362 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 3, 1980 <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net benefits and $0.00 net damages <br />to abutting property. No remonstrators were present and no written <br />remonstrances were filed with the Board concerning the assessment <br />roll. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved and said resolution <br />is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />AWARD BIDS - STREET MATERIALS <br />Mr. McMahon noted that he recommended the low bidder for materials <br />in all cases except for the asphalt material, tack material and <br />emulsified asphalt, the latter materials because of the escalator <br />clause written in the bids. He recommended the following: <br />Item Nos. 1 through 7, Hot Asphaltic Concrete Surface and <br />Binder Materials <br />Recommend the bids of Walsh & Kelly and Rieth -Riley so <br />as to provide the city with two sources of materials. <br />It is the intention that these materials be purchased <br />from Walsh & Kelly based upon their low bid. Materials <br />will be ordered from Rieth -Riley only in the event that <br />Walsh & Kelly is unable to supply the materials in a <br />timely manner. <br />Item No. 8, Bituminous Material - Tack <br />Recommend the bids of Walsh & Kelly at $175 per ton, <br />and Arco at $170 per ton. <br />Item No. 9, Bituminous Material Road Oil <br />Recommend the bid of Westville Oil Company at 50 cents <br />per gallon. <br />Item No. 10, Bituminous Patching Material <br />Recommend the bid of Walsh & Kelly at $21.50 per ton. <br />Item No. 11, Emulsified Asphalt <br />Recommend the bids of Emulsion Products at 56 cents per <br />gallon, The Koch Company at 56.47 cents per gallon, and <br />Bituminous Materials at 62.28 cents per gallon. <br />Item No. 12, #2, Stone /Slag <br />Recommend the bid of Wanatah at $6.85 per ton, and the <br />Levy Company at $6.25 per ton. <br />Item No. 13, Coarse Aggregate #9 <br />Recommend the bid of Medusa Aggregates at $2.75 per ton. <br />Item No. 14, Coarse Aggregate #73, Stone and Slag <br />Recommend the bid of Medusa Aggregates at $2.30 per ton, <br />and the Levy Company at $6.10 per ton. <br />Item No. 15, Sand #14 -1, #14 -2 <br />Recommend the bid of Medusa Aggregates at $2.15 per ton. <br />Item No. 16, Coarse Aggregate - Crusher Run <br />Recommend the bid of the Levy Company at $5.75 per ton. <br />
