352 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 18, 1980 <br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY - HOMELAND SECOND ADDITION <br />Mr. McMahon noted that residents in the vicinity of the alley <br />between Lots 142 and 143 of Homeland Second Addition were <br />petitioning for the vacation of an alley which runs from Olive <br />Street to a north -south alley immediately north of Ewing. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the petition was referred to the Engineering Department, the <br />Area Plan Commission and Community Development for review. <br />REQUEST FOR 1980 ETHNIC FESTIVAL <br />The Board received correspondence from Mikki Dobski, Coordinator <br />of River Bend Plaza, requesting permission to hold the 1980 Ethnic <br />Festival on the Plaza, July 4 -6, 1980, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />each day. Participants will include food, craft and display booths, <br />as well as stage entertainment. Applications for booths will be <br />submitted to the Board for approval after May lst. Street closings, <br />fireworks and the 5 -mile race requests will be made to the Board <br />at a later date. Mr. Kernan indicated that the exact location <br />on the Plaza will depend on the demolition of the buildings in <br />the mall area. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the correspondence was filed. <br />APPROVE LEASE AGREEMENT - HAROLD MEDOW CHRYSLER - PLYMOUTH. INC. <br />A Lease Agreement was submi <br />Chrysler- Plymouth, Inc. for <br />Medallion for Mayor Parent. <br />rate of $222.70 per month. <br />seconded by Mr. McMahon and <br />approved. <br />tted to the Board with Harold Medow <br />lease of a 1980 Chrysler LeBaron <br />The lease term is 11 months, at a <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />carried, the Lease Agreement was <br />REQUEST TO PASS OUT LITERATURE - HOME JUICE COMPANY <br />A request was submitted to the Board from a representative of <br />the Home Juice Company for permission to hand out printed <br />information about its delivery service to W.I.C. recipients <br />(Women, Infants and Children Nutritional Program) outside the <br />W.I.C. Office located in the Karl King Towers at 515 East Monroe. <br />Mr. Crone indicated that, in the past, the Board has only granted <br />permission for passing out literature to religious, charitable <br />or non - profit organizations, or if the material was to be passed <br />out on private property. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was denied. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Mr. Joe Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following recommendations <br />for the removal and installation of street lights: <br />Removal: Type Cost /Mo. <br />Old Landfill on 7000L MV OH WP $4.80 <br />Lathrop and Bendix <br />Installation: <br />1200 block Grace 7000L MV OH WP $4.80 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />L <br />1 <br />
