REGULAR MEETING 3011) JANUARY 7. 1980 APPROVAL OF CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY DEPUTY PROSECUTOR Mr. Hill indicated that this was a Sub- Contract Agreement with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor to employ a deputy to work specifically in criminal investigation and would include participation in case screening and case preparation for court trials. Mr. John Cimino stated that this was part of a total grant package and it was stipu- lated that the city would sub - contract one of the positions to last 18 months. The deputy prosecutor, under the terms of the contract, would work very closely with the Police Department in court preparation. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the contract was approved. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 1 -1980 -YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU VAN Mr. McMahon explained that the resolution would allow the disposition of a Youth Services Bureau Van to the Boys' Club of South Bend rather than to scrap the vehicle as approved by the Board on September 6, 1979. Mr. Hill indicated that it should be understood that there would be no use by the Boys' Club of the van until the title transfer, and Mr. McMahon agreed. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Hill and carried, the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, on September 6, 1979, the Board of Public Works approved the disposition of a certain vehicle owned by the City of South Bend Youth Services Bureau, more particularly described as a 1974 Chevrolet Van, Serial Number CGY364U156978, and further authorized the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance to scrap said vehicle and remove it from the City Vehicle Inventory because it was determined to be obsolete and deteriorated to the point where repair costs would exceed its value; and WHEREAS, a request from the Boys' Club of South Bend has been received for release of said van as a donation to the Club for its use, with repairs to be made to said van by the Club members, volunteers and citizenry at large, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the above Resolution of the Board adopted on September 6, 1979, be amended to allow for the release of said van to the Boys' Club of South Bend. Parent, Mayor APPROVAL OF ONE WAY STREET REQUESTS - TOWER OF POWER NEIGHBORHOOD Mr. McMahon indicated that the request for one -way streets had been submitted by the Tower of Power Neighborhood Group in an area roughly bounded by Western Avenue, Kosciuszko Street, the railroad and Meade Street. He stated that it had been referred to and reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting which had made the following recommenda- tions regarding the one -way streets:
