REGULAR MEETING <br />3011) <br />JANUARY 7. 1980 <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY DEPUTY PROSECUTOR <br />Mr. Hill indicated that this was a Sub- Contract Agreement with the <br />St. Joseph County Prosecutor to employ a deputy to work specifically <br />in criminal investigation and would include participation in case <br />screening and case preparation for court trials. Mr. John Cimino <br />stated that this was part of a total grant package and it was stipu- <br />lated that the city would sub - contract one of the positions to last <br />18 months. The deputy prosecutor, under the terms of the contract, <br />would work very closely with the Police Department in court preparation. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the contract was approved. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 1 -1980 -YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU VAN <br />Mr. McMahon explained that the resolution would allow the disposition <br />of a Youth Services Bureau Van to the Boys' Club of South Bend rather <br />than to scrap the vehicle as approved by the Board on September 6, 1979. <br />Mr. Hill indicated that it should be understood that there would be <br />no use by the Boys' Club of the van until the title transfer, and Mr. <br />McMahon agreed. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Hill and carried, <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br />WHEREAS, on September 6, 1979, the Board of Public Works <br />approved the disposition of a certain vehicle owned by the <br />City of South Bend Youth Services Bureau, more particularly <br />described as a 1974 Chevrolet Van, Serial Number CGY364U156978, <br />and further authorized the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance to <br />scrap said vehicle and remove it from the City Vehicle <br />Inventory because it was determined to be obsolete and <br />deteriorated to the point where repair costs would exceed <br />its value; and <br />WHEREAS, a request from the Boys' Club of South Bend has been <br />received for release of said van as a donation to the Club <br />for its use, with repairs to be made to said van by the Club <br />members, volunteers and citizenry at large, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the above Resolution of <br />the Board adopted on September 6, 1979, be amended to allow <br />for the release of said van to the Boys' Club of South Bend. <br />Approved: January 7, 1980 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Patrick M. Parent, Mayor <br />APPROVAL OF ONE WAY STREET REQUESTS - TOWER OF POWER NEIGHBORHOOD <br />Mr. McMahon indicated that the request for one -way streets had been <br />submitted by the Tower of Power Neighborhood Group in an area roughly <br />bounded by Western Avenue, Kosciuszko Street, the railroad and Meade <br />Street. He stated that it had been referred to and reviewed by the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting which had made the following recommenda- <br />tions regarding the one -way streets: <br />
