Wd <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 17, 1979 <br />$670.00 and covers construction of a wall and partition, wiring <br />changes and a doorway. The change order is recommended for <br />approval by Ms. Strycker and C. Thane Wilson, Inspector for the <br />Bureau of Housing, who is monitoring the contract. The Board <br />was informed that the total cost of the change order will be <br />paid by FIRE, Inc. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />CONTRACT APPROVED - ACCOUNTING SERVICES OF JOHN LENTZ <br />A contract between the City of South Bend and John Lentz to <br />provide accounting services for Century Center was submitted to the <br />Board. Mr. Mullen explained that the contract is similar to the <br />present contract with Mr. Lentz as provided for by state statute. <br />The contract extends from January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1980 <br />and the rate is established at $9.50 per hour, not to exceed a <br />total of $2000,00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the contract was approved. <br />WASHINGTON STREET STREET LIGHTING APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, reported that the bids received for the street lighting <br />on Washington Street had been reviewed and he recommended acceptance <br />of the low bid of Arrow Electric Company in the amount of $24,546.42. <br />A contract document has been prepared and executed by Arrow Electric, <br />and they have submitted the required Performance Bond and Labor and <br />Materials Bond. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved and the Board <br />awarded the bid and approved the contract. The bonds were filed. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted the following recommendation for installation <br />of street lights: <br />Install - 2700 Hartzer, 7,0001, MV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />On Grant, off <br />Washington 7,0001, MV OH WP $4:80 /mo. <br />$9.60 /mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR DRIVEWAY AT FIRST BANK CENTER APPROVED <br />An application to the Indiana State Highway Commission for construction <br />drives to be located at the First Bank Center on St. Joseph Street <br />was submitted to the Board. Mr. McMahon explained that this was <br />the standard state highway application form and would be submitted <br />to the State for approval. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunnerand carried, the application was approved. <br />AWARDING OF BID - MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION. FIRE STATION NO. 11 <br />James Childs, Architect for the new Fire Station 11, reported to <br />the Board that the bids received for mechanical construction of the <br />station had been reviewed and he recommended acceptance of the low <br />bid of Standard Mechanical in the amount of $59,173.00. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />approved the recommendation and awarded the bid. <br />
