MOW <br />LOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 17. 1979 <br />HOUSE MOVE APPROVED 721 S. OLIVE TO 1614 KNOBLOCK <br />James Markle, Building Commissioner, submitted to the Board a <br />request from Michiana House Movers to move a house from 721 <br />S. Olive to 1614 Knoblock. He noted that adjacent property owners <br />have been advised of the move and notified that the Board would <br />hold a hearing on the matter today. There were no citizens <br />present who wished to speak on the matter. The Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting reviewed the request and the route and made the <br />following recommendations: <br />1. The route as submitted is acceptable. <br />2. A letter of intent from a pre- qualified signal contractor <br />must be on file prior to the permit being issued. <br />3. A permit from the Indiana State Highway Department must <br />be on file prior to the permit being issued. <br />4. The Board of Public Works, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and Police Department must be notified 24 hours in advance <br />of the date and time of the move. <br />5. The total loaded width, length, height and weight of the <br />structure will be submitted to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting prior to the move. <br />6. If the time of the move exceeds daylight hours, the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting must be notified where the house <br />will be parked overnight. <br />7. The house mover must provide proof of notification and <br />agreement from Conrail and Amtrak as to time of crossing <br />of railroad tracks and train schedules. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the house move was approved, subject to all stipulations of the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, filing of the required certificate <br />of insurance, 24 hours advance notice of the move and the securing <br />of the necessary permit from the Building Commissioner. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESS14ENT ROLL, VACATION RESOLUTION 3481, <br />PROCEEDINGS CLOSED <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll <br />with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3481 for the vacation of <br />Lafayette Street from Indiana Avenue south to the dead end, a distance <br />of approximately 271 feet, all inCreed's 2nd Addition to the City <br />of South Bend. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The Assessment Poll lists $0.00 net benefits and <br />$0.00 net damages to abutting property. No remonstrators were <br />present and no written remonstrances were filed with the Board. <br />Howard Goodhew, petitioner, and Attorney Harold Brueseke were present <br />to speak favorably on the matter. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved <br />and said resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and <br />said proceedings closed. <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3484 <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the petition of Jerry Watkins, et al, to <br />vacate the second -east west alley between Lots 46 and 47 north <br />of Northside Boulevard had been reviewed by various departments. <br />The Area Plan Commission, Community Development Department and <br />Engineering Department report no objection to the vacation subject <br />to utility easements. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the reports were filed and the following <br />resolution was adopted: <br />
