259 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 19. 1979 <br />AGREEMENT APPROVED - DONMOYER /MICHIGAN SIGNAL <br />An Agreement between the City of South Bend and the Indiana State <br />Highway Commission for the installation of traffic signals at <br />U.S. 31 (Michigan) and Donmoyer was submitted to the Board. Mr. <br />McMahon noted that this has been pursued with the State for some <br />time and they have now agreed to include the intersection in the <br />thirteen- intersection project planned. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the agreement was <br />approved. <br />NATIONAL AUTOPARK RATE INCREASE NOTIFICATION FILED <br />National Autopark, Inc., 112-114 W. Jefferson, sent notification <br />to the Board of the following increases in parking rental: <br />Under the Roof: Present rate - $25.00 Revised rate $30.00 per month <br />On the Roof: Present rate - $16.00 Revised rate - $20.00 per month <br />Increases to become effective on January 1, 1980. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the notification <br />was filed. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - STREET LIGHTING <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant �'Ianager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, requested that the Board approve advertising for bids <br />for street lighting on Washington, from Chapin to William. Plans <br />and specifications are being prepared and it is requested that bids <br />be received on December 10. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3481 <br />Patrick M. McMahon, P. E., Civil City Engineer, files an Assessment <br />Roll with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3481 for the <br />vacation of Lafayette Street from Indiana Avenue south to the <br />dead end, a distance of approximately 271 feet, all in Creed's <br />2nd Addition to the City of South Bend. The following property may <br />be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />Lots 12 through 24, Part of Creed's 2nd Addition <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits <br />to the abutting properties. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon; <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Assessment Roll was filed <br />and set for public hearing.on December 17. <br />DAMAGED CURB COMPLAINT AT 4423 W. HURON FILED <br />The Board received a letter from Councilman Walter Kopczynski <br />regarding a damaged curb at 4.423 W. Huron Street and the request <br />that immediate action be taken to correct the situation. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Public Construction for <br />review and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />recommended that the Board revise the fourway stop at Angela and <br />North Shore to a two -way stop, noting that the intersection does <br />not meet warrants for signals or the four -way stop and further <br />noting that St. Joseph County will be contacted regarding modifications <br />in the bridge railing to improve sight distance at the intersection. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved subject to the bridge modification. <br />
