REGULAR MEETING CANOPY APPROVED - SOUTH BEND_SHRINE CLUB 239 OCTOBER 29. 1979 Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the Board a report of his review of the request of the South Bend Shrine Club to install a portico at their location at 126 W. Marion Street, Mr, Wadzinski reported no objection to the installation if made in accordance with all.Municipal Code requirements. The Building Commissioner has reviewed the request and has recommended approval, subject to all Code requirements. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved installation of the canopy, subject to all Code requirements of the Building and Fire Departments and to the filing of a Certificate of Insurance. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the Board a recommendation to install a "No Parking - Fire Lane, Tow Zone,_on the west side of 100 North Michigan Street, where the fire lane is constantly blocked by vehicles. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED Joseph J. Plu.ta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light recommendations: REMOVE: On Niles Avenue between St. Vincent and Napoleon (2 lights) 7000L MV U6 CP $5.10, /mo. INSTALL: On Niles Avenue, between St.. Vincent and Napoleon (2 lights) 7000L MV OH WP 16.20 /mo, On Taylor St., S. of Washington 7000L MV OH WP 4.80 /mo. On Dunham, between Phillipa and Olive 7000L MV OH WP 4.80 /mo. 600 Block Southmoor 7000L MV OH WP 4.80 /mo. On Pagin, No. of Orange 7000L MV OH WP 4.80 /mo. Total Increase $30.30 /mo. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendations were approved, HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS APPROVED The Board received applications for Handicapped Parking Permits from Mabel Eslinger, 16019 Ireland Road, and Keith Kaser, 819 E. Milton Street. Both applications had doctor's statements attached as required. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the applications were approved and referred to the Controller's Office for issuance of the permits.
