REGULAR MEETING <br />CANOPY APPROVED - SOUTH BEND_SHRINE CLUB <br />239 <br />OCTOBER 29. 1979 <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board a report of his review of the request of <br />the South Bend Shrine Club to install a portico at their location <br />at 126 W. Marion Street, Mr, Wadzinski reported no objection to <br />the installation if made in accordance with all.Municipal Code <br />requirements. The Building Commissioner has reviewed the request <br />and has recommended approval, subject to all Code requirements. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the Board approved installation of the canopy, subject to <br />all Code requirements of the Building and Fire Departments and <br />to the filing of a Certificate of Insurance. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board a recommendation to install a "No Parking - <br />Fire Lane, Tow Zone,_on the west side of 100 North Michigan Street, <br />where the fire lane is constantly blocked by vehicles. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Plu.ta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light <br />recommendations: <br />REMOVE: <br />On Niles Avenue between St. <br />Vincent and Napoleon (2 lights) 7000L MV U6 CP $5.10, /mo. <br />INSTALL: <br />On Niles Avenue, between St.. <br />Vincent and Napoleon (2 lights) 7000L MV OH WP 16.20 /mo, <br />On Taylor <br />St., S. of Washington <br />7000L <br />MV <br />OH <br />WP <br />4.80 /mo. <br />On Dunham, <br />between Phillipa <br />and Olive <br />7000L <br />MV <br />OH <br />WP <br />4.80 /mo. <br />600 Block <br />Southmoor <br />7000L <br />MV <br />OH <br />WP <br />4.80 /mo. <br />On Pagin, <br />No. of Orange <br />7000L <br />MV <br />OH <br />WP <br />4.80 /mo. <br />Total <br />Increase <br />$30.30 /mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded <br />by <br />Mr. <br />Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were <br />approved, <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS APPROVED <br />The Board received applications for Handicapped Parking Permits from <br />Mabel Eslinger, 16019 Ireland Road, and Keith Kaser, 819 E. Milton <br />Street. Both applications had doctor's statements attached as <br />required. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner <br />and carried, the applications were approved and referred to the <br />Controller's Office for issuance of the permits. <br />
