LR LM <br />• <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 4, 1979 <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - GARAGE PORTION OF FIRST BANK CENTER <br />Sollitt Construction Company, Construction Manager for the First <br />Bank Center project, requested permission to advertise for bids <br />for the garage portion of the First Bank Center, with bids to be <br />received on October 1, 1979. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved advertising <br />for bids. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED INSURANCE PROPOSALS <br />Peter H. Mullen, City Controller, advised the Board that it is <br />required by ordinance that the Board advertise for insurance <br />proposals every three years. Specifications are now being prepared <br />and he asked permission to advertise for bids for proposals to be <br />received on Monday, December.3. Advertising dates are to be <br />September 7 and 14. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. <br />CLEVELAND ROAD SEWER BIDS REJECTED AND READVERTISING APPROVED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, reported that the <br />Board had received bids for the Cleveland Road Truck Sewer some <br />weeks ago. All bids received exceeded the Engineer's estimate. <br />The project has now been redesigned and the Department of Public <br />Works is requesting that the bids received be rejected and the <br />the Board readvertise, with bids to be received on September 10. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board rejected the bids received for the Cleveland Road <br />Trunk Sewer and approved readvertising. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 21. 1979 <br />Mr. McMahon noted that a Resolution of the Board has been prepared <br />to clarify a--public right -of -way owned by the City, west of Main <br />Street in the 4300 Block South Lafayette, known as Metalmation <br />Drive. The property was accepted by the City in 1975 in the form <br />of a Quitclaim Deed and not as a deed of dedication. This resolution <br />will clarify the status of the property as public right -of -way. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21, 1979 <br />WHEREAS,the City of South Bend is the owner of Lot Numbered <br />Fifty -eight (58) as shown on the Recorded Plat of Myer's & <br />Funk's Third Plat of Chippewa Heights Addition to the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana; and <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the City of <br />South Bend to designate said property as public right -of -way; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the,Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana that: <br />Lot Numbered Fifty -eight (58) as shown on the Recorded <br />Plat of Myer's & Funk's Third Plat of Chippewa Heights <br />Addition to the City of South Bend be and the same is <br />hereby designated as public right -of -way. <br />Adopted this 4th day of September, 1979. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Patrick M.
