11M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST FOR SIGNAGE - COUNCILMAN SERGE <br />SEPTEMBER 4. 1979 <br />Councilman Joseph Serge was present and requested that the Board <br />have signs installed at Olive, Elmer, Huey, Brookfield and Johnson <br />Streets at Lathrop, which is a dead - end. He also requested,the <br />installation of Watch Children signs on King, between Portage <br />and Anderson. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the requests were referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting for review and appropriate action. <br />JOHN ADAMS MINI - MARATHON APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />advised the Board that the request of John Adams High School to <br />hold a Marathon on Sunday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m. had been <br />reviewed with the Police Department. The route is acceptable and <br />approval is recommended, with traffic control to be coordinated <br />by the Police Department Traffic Detail. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Marathon <br />was approved. <br />MONROE CIRCLE BLOCK PARTY APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of residents to hold a Block party .on <br />Monroe Circle on September 8, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, had <br />been reviewed with the Police Department and approval is recommended <br />.with the provision that a ten foot Emergency lane is kept open at <br />all times for emergency vehicle access. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />BLACK PARTY REQUEST APPROVED - EDGEWATER DRIVE <br />Ralph J, Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request to block the 500 block Edgewater Drive, <br />from Monroe to Arch, on September 9 from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. <br />had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval is <br />recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS - HAMPSHIRE DRIVE <br />Mrs. Stella Langston, 1488 Hampsire Drive, requested that the <br />Board consider installation of street lights between 1470 and 1488 <br />Hampshire Drive. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO DISPOSE OF VAN APPROVED <br />Michele Dobski, Youth Services Bureau, advised the Board that a <br />1974 van used by the Bureau is in poor condition and it has been <br />determined it would not be feasible to make repairs. She requested <br />approval to dispose of the van. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved and <br />the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance will be given authority to <br />dispose of the vehicle. <br />0 <br />1 <br />
