1'73 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 20, 1979 <br />The 4th day of September, 1979 at the hour of 9:30 A,M. o'clock, <br />Local Time, is hereby given as the time and the Board of Works <br />Room, 1308 County -City Building, as the place when and where all <br />persons whose property may be affected by such proposed improvement <br />may be heard as to the necessity for the same, and all petitions <br />and remonstrances received. The Board will, on said day, decide <br />whether the benefits accruing to abutting and adjacent property <br />and to the City of South Bend, Indiana, will be equal to or exceed <br />the estimated cost of said improvement. Mullen <br />Notice of Hearing Published <br />August 24 and 31, 1979 <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq <br />Clerk of the Board <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - 1800 MARINE STREET <br />The,.Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department reviewed <br />the request to block the 1800 block Marine Street, from Randolph <br />to Calvert, on Sunday, September 2 from 11:00 a.m, to 11:00 p.m. <br />for a Block Party and recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the Block Party was <br />approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - JAMESTOWN COURT <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department reviewed <br />the request to block the 4700 block Jamestown Court for a Block Party <br />on Saturday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Approval is recommended <br />provided that an emergency lane 10 feet wide be kept open at all <br />times as this is a cul de sac. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Block Party was approved <br />subject to the conditions outlined by the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting. <br />TEMPORARY TWO -WAY INSTALLATION ON MADISON STREET APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended that the Board approve for a temporary period two - <br />way traffic in the 100 block of West Madison Street, from Main Street <br />to the alley east of Main Street, to facilitate entry to the alleys <br />from Main Street and to commercial establishments in the area. <br />The recommendatin is being made due to construction of the Michigan/ <br />Main Connector. Reversion to the one -way system is to be at the <br />discretion of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Bureau of <br />Public Construction. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />
