1'74 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BIKE- A -THON APPROVED <br />AUGUST 20, 1979 <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported review of the proposed <br />route for the American Diabetes Association Bike -A -Thou to be <br />held on October 7, 1979. The route is recommended for approval. <br />However, it is noted that the South-Bend Police Department cannot <br />provide assistance for the Bike -A -Thon and it is recommended that, <br />since this is not a marathon or race, all participants be <br />instructed to obey all traffic laws. It is also noted that <br />a portion of the route is in St. Joseph County. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Bike -A <br />Thon was approved for the portion of the route that is within the <br />City of South Bend and participants will be instructed to obey <br />all traffic laws. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED <br />Joseph J. The request was reviewed by the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department and <br />approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />1 <br />
