REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 20. 1979 <br />REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL ATEWING AND HIGH STREETS FILED <br />The Southeast United Neighborhood Association requested that <br />the Board consider the possibility of installation of a traffic <br />signal at the intersection of Ewing and High Streets because of <br />the accident rate and the speeding of motorists in the vicinity. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY FILED - MASTERBILT, INC. <br />Masterbilt, Inc. files a petition to vacate the first east -west <br />alley south of Napier Street, running west from Walnut Street <br />to the intersection of the north -south alley between Lots 34 <br />and 39 of Knoblock's Sub. of B.O.L. 84, for a distance of one <br />hundred and twenty feet. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr Mullen and carried, the petition was filed and referred to <br />the Engineering Department, Engineering Department, Community <br />Development Department and Redevelopment Department and the Area <br />Plan Commission for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />TENT SALE APPROVED - J. E. IgALZ, INC <br />The Board received a request from J. E. Walz, Inc. to hold their <br />annual Tent Sale at 3423 S. Michigan Street from September 7 through <br />October 22. A Certificate of Fireproofing for the tent was attached <br />to the request. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved, subject to all <br />requirements of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Fire <br />Inspection Bureau and the Building Department, <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - 1200 WOODLAWN <br />James Caldwell requested that the Board approve the closing of the <br />1200 block Woodlawn Boulevard on September 2 (rain date September 3) <br />from 12:00 noon to midnight for a Block Party, Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - WOLDHAVEN DRIVE <br />Diana Singleton submitted a request-to close Woldhaven Drive <br />from the Corner of Lancaster and Woldhaven to 3611 Woldhaven on <br />Saturday, September l from 2:00 p.m. to midnight for a Block <br />Party. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - MON ROE CIRCLE <br />Mary Allen submitted a request to hold a Block <br />Circle on Saturday, September 8 from 5:30 p.m, <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by M <br />carried, the request was filed and referred to <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />recommendation. <br />Party on Monroe <br />to 11:30 p.m. <br />r.
