REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20. 1979 REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL ATEWING AND HIGH STREETS FILED The Southeast United Neighborhood Association requested that the Board consider the possibility of installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Ewing and High Streets because of the accident rate and the speeding of motorists in the vicinity. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY FILED - MASTERBILT, INC. Masterbilt, Inc. files a petition to vacate the first east -west alley south of Napier Street, running west from Walnut Street to the intersection of the north -south alley between Lots 34 and 39 of Knoblock's Sub. of B.O.L. 84, for a distance of one hundred and twenty feet. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr Mullen and carried, the petition was filed and referred to the Engineering Department, Engineering Department, Community Development Department and Redevelopment Department and the Area Plan Commission for preliminary review and recommendation. TENT SALE APPROVED - J. E. IgALZ, INC The Board received a request from J. E. Walz, Inc. to hold their annual Tent Sale at 3423 S. Michigan Street from September 7 through October 22. A Certificate of Fireproofing for the tent was attached to the request. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved, subject to all requirements of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Fire Inspection Bureau and the Building Department, BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - 1200 WOODLAWN James Caldwell requested that the Board approve the closing of the 1200 block Woodlawn Boulevard on September 2 (rain date September 3) from 12:00 noon to midnight for a Block Party, Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recommendation. BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - WOLDHAVEN DRIVE Diana Singleton submitted a request-to close Woldhaven Drive from the Corner of Lancaster and Woldhaven to 3611 Woldhaven on Saturday, September l from 2:00 p.m. to midnight for a Block Party. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recommendation. BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FILED - MON ROE CIRCLE Mary Allen submitted a request to hold a Block Circle on Saturday, September 8 from 5:30 p.m, Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by M carried, the request was filed and referred to Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department recommendation.
