REGULAR MEETING <br />151 <br />JULY 30. 1979 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board accepted the low proposal of Indiana Terminix <br />Company of $368.70 for pigeon control at the viaduct at Western <br />and Walnut. <br />REPORT REGARDING COMPLAINT IN 500 BLOCK BLAINE AVENUE <br />A complaint regarding children playing in the street in the 500 <br />block Blaine Avenue was referred to the Police Department and <br />the Legal Department. The Police Department submitted a report <br />saying that within the last three months there were six calls <br />to the area, but no official reports. Captain Mitchem of the <br />Police Department suggested that if people living in the area <br />have a complaint they should insist the officers making the <br />calls make an official report. In this way the proper authorities <br />will be aware of the situation and can do something about it. Mr. <br />Brunner noted that the Legal Department has not yet submitted <br />their report. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the report was filed. <br />MARATHON RUN APPROVED - ST. ADALBERT'S CHURCH <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of St. Adalbert's Church to hold a <br />Marathon Run on Sunday, August 19 at 6 :00 p.m. had been reviewed <br />with the Police Department. The route was approved with one <br />minor change. The start /finish line will be in the block of <br />Huron just east of Olive instead of on Olive Street as originally <br />requested and that block will be closed to traffic. The Church <br />has agreed to the change. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Marathon Race was <br />approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - 2300 BLOCK HOLLYWOOD PLACE <br />Ralph J. <br />reported <br />the 2300 <br />to 9:00 <br />approval <br />seconded <br />Wadzinski, Manager of <br />to the Board that the <br />block Hollywood Place <br />3.m. had been reviewed <br />is recommended. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request of residents to block the <br />1300 -1400 block South Street on Friday, August 17 (rain date of <br />August 18) from 5:00 p.m. to midnight had been reviewed with <br />the Police Department and approval is recommended. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />block party was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - CREST AVENUE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request of residents to block <br />Crest Avenue, between Southeast and Altgeld, on August 4 from <br />12:00 noon to midnight had been reviewed with the Police Department <br />and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the block party was approved. <br />
