150 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 30, 1979 <br />REQUEST ENCROACHMENT ON PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY — RAILWAY <br />EXPRESS BUILDING ON SOUTH STREET <br />The Board received a request from Smith -White Company, who is in <br />the process of purchasing the Railway Express building on W. <br />South Street. They will be placing a prefabricated concrete <br />panel wall along the property line and extending up to cover <br />the present unsightly truck dock area and the concrete railing <br />wall at the roof. There is one foot available between the <br />property line along South.Street and the above mentioned <br />railing wall to place the new wall. The minimum dimension <br />of the wall panels is a 3" slab and 12" ribs for a total of <br />15 ". Therefore, they are requesting permission to allow the <br />ribs to over hang the public sidewalk for a total of 3 ". <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board referred the request to the Building Depart- <br />ment and Engineering Department for review and recommendation. <br />BID AWARDED - TIRE REPAIRS FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />The Board received a recommendation from Louis Grounds, Manager <br />of Vehicle Maintenance, that the low bid of Firestone, Inc. be <br />accepted for tire repairs for city vehicles. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the low bid <br />of Firestone, Inc. for tire repairs was accepted. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 4700 BLOCK JAMESTOWN COURT <br />The Board received a request from Richard Thomas to hold a Block <br />Party in the 4700 block of Jamestown Court on Saturday, August 11 <br />from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request.was filed and <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 1000 BLOCK OAK STREET - <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Linda Johnson to hold a <br />Block Party in the 1000 block of Oak Street, from Allen to <br />Sherman on Saturday, August 11, with a rain date of August 12, <br />between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request <br />was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 1900 S. RUSH <br />The Board received a request from Bob Banacka to hold a Block <br />Party in the 1900 block S. Rush Street on Saturday, August 25. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />PIGEON CONTROL, VIADUCT AT WESTERN AND WALNUT - PROPOSAL ACCEPTED <br />The Board of Public Works received the following proposals for <br />pigeon control at the viaduct at Western Avenue and Walnut <br />Street <br />Arrow Services $725.00 <br />Indiana Terminix Co. Initial $181.20 <br />2 mo. @ 30.00 per month <br />3 Qtly. @ 42.50 each <br />TOTAL 368.70 <br />Franklin Pest Control $420.00 <br />
