144 REGULAR MEETING RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS APPROVED JULY 23, 1979 Michele Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted the following applications from merchants for participation in Downtown Sidewalk Days July 27 and 28:, Sonneborn's Sport Shop, Horizons, Rasmussen's Men's Shop, Robertson's, Mueller Jewelers, Hall of Cards and Books, Tennis Corner, Osco's, New York Fashions.. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the applications were approved, subject to the filing of certificates of insurance and securing vending licenses. TITLE SHEET APPROVED - SHELL OIL SANITARY SEWER The Bureau of Design and Administration submitted to the Board the title sheet approving the plans for the Shell Oil Sanitary Sewer, Western Avenue at Mayflower. The work will be done in accordance with City specifications. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the title sheet approving the plans was signed. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - DE- ICING CHEMICALS Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, made a verbal request for authorization to advertise for bids for salt and de -icing chemicals. He noted the request is earlier than usual this year but indications are there will be a substantial increase in price this year and he would like bids received as soon as possible. Specifications are being prepared. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was approved. CLAIMS APPROVED Chief Deputy City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 13958 through 14717 and recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 13958 through 14717 and directed that checks for payment be issued. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage Report for the period July 9 through July 17 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated thirty - four outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mx. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - E. WASHINGTON STREET The Board received a request from Mrs. Robert Peltz to hold a Block Party in the 1300 block East Washington on Wednesday, July 25 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reviewed the request with the Police Department and recommended approval. Upon motion made by,Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Block Party was approved.. OPEN AIR STAND APPROVED CONDITIONALLY An Open Air Stand application was submitted by Lonnie Harrison for the sale of tropical plants. Mr. Harrison is in the process of securing a private property location for the sale and is requesting conditional approval, based on a suitable location being secured. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the application was approved, subject to the Board receiving the written permission of a private property owner for operation of the stand and approval by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting.
