M <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 1979 <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON SOUTH STREET FILED <br />The Board received a request from Lee Gerni to hold a Block Party <br />in the 1300 -1400 block South Street on Friday, August 17 (rain <br />date August 18) from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded,by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request <br />was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON HOLLYWOOD PLACE FILED <br />The Board received a request from Dennis Jennings <br />Party in the 2300 block Hollywood Place on August <br />until 9:00 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Dep. <br />review and recommendation. <br />BLOCK PARTY ON EAST LA SALLE APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of <br />reported to the Board that the <br />the 1400 block East LaSalle on <br />had been reviewed with the Pol <br />recommended. Upon motion made <br />Brunner and carried, the Block <br />to hold a Block <br />25 from noon <br />seconded by <br />referred to the <br />3rtment for <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />request of residents to block <br />July 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. <br />ice Department and approval is <br />by Mr, McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Party was approved, <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE CHAPIN STREET APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of Our Lady of Hungary Church to block <br />Chapin Street, between Calvert and Bruce, on August 18 from noon <br />until midnight for a Fun Fair had been reviewed with the Police <br />Department and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended that the Board approve the installation of a stop <br />sign on the southeast corner of Culver (extended) at Inglewood <br />at a tee intersection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. <br />RESOLUTION OF STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION FILED- <br />The Board received notification from the Indiana State Highway <br />Commission of adoption of a resolution establishing preferentiality <br />at the intersection of SR 2 and Walnut Street as follows: <br />This intersection is signalized and in the event of need <br />for a flashing operation of the traffic signal, this <br />signal must flash RED to all approaches. <br />All traffic on all approaches shall STOP before entering <br />the intersection of SR 2 (Western Avenue) and Walnut Street <br />during the need for a flashing operation of the traffic signal. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the notification was filed. <br />143 <br />
