M REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 1979 REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON SOUTH STREET FILED The Board received a request from Lee Gerni to hold a Block Party in the 1300 -1400 block South Street on Friday, August 17 (rain date August 18) from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded,by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recommendation. REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON HOLLYWOOD PLACE FILED The Board received a request from Dennis Jennings Party in the 2300 block Hollywood Place on August until 9:00 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr, McMahon, Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Dep. review and recommendation. BLOCK PARTY ON EAST LA SALLE APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of reported to the Board that the the 1400 block East LaSalle on had been reviewed with the Pol recommended. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported that the request of Our Lady of Hungary Church to block Chapin Street, between Calvert and Bruce, on August 18 from noon until midnight for a Fun Fair had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended that the Board approve the installation of a stop sign on the southeast corner of Culver (extended) at Inglewood at a tee intersection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. RESOLUTION OF STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION FILED- The Board received notification from the Indiana State Highway Commission of adoption of a resolution establishing preferentiality at the intersection of SR 2 and Walnut Street as follows: This intersection is signalized and in the event of need for a flashing operation of the traffic signal, this signal must flash RED to all approaches. All traffic on all approaches shall STOP before entering the intersection of SR 2 (Western Avenue) and Walnut Street during the need for a flashing operation of the traffic signal. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the notification was filed. 143
