120 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TIRE REPAIRS BID REJECTED <br />JULY 9, 1979 <br />Chief Deputy Controller Michael L. Vance submitted to the Board <br />a report that the bid received from Singer General Tire Company <br />for tire repairs for city vehicles had been.reviewed. Following <br />a discussion with Louis Grounds, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Vehicle Maintenance, Mr, Vance requested that the bid be rejected, <br />based on the past quality of service from Singer General Tire, <br />and that the Board authorize readvertising for bids. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />Board approved the request and authorized readvertising. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - CENTURY CENTER WALK -IN COOLER <br />Brian Hedman, Director of Century Center, submitted specifications <br />for an addition and modifications to the walk -in cooler and <br />freezer at Century Center and requested that the Board advertise <br />for bids. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS APPROVED <br />Michele Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the <br />Board the following requests along with her favorable recommendation: <br />1. July 26 - 12:15 to 1:15 - Chamber Brass Quintet on Robertson's <br />Stage, funded by the Musician's Federation Trust Fund. <br />2. Downtown Council Sidewalk Days - July 27 and 28 <br />3. Farmer's Market every Wednesday, beginning July 25 from <br />10:00 a.m. to 4 :00 p.m. in the south Supergraphic Block only. <br />Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by Mr, Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />Applications from Dainty Maid and Penney's for Sidewalk Days were <br />submitted. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner, <br />and carried, the applications were approved, subject to the <br />necessary health permits, vendor's licenses and insurance. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Chief Deputy Controller Michael L. Vance submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 12765 through 13573 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr, Brunner and <br />carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 12765 through <br />13573 and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />BOND RELEASED - KIRK EXCAVATING COMPANY <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported that he had <br />reviewed the request to release the Excavation Bond of Kirk <br />Excavating Company. There are no outstanding permits for this <br />contractor and Mr. Andrysiak recommended that the bond be <br />released. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr, Brunner <br />and carried, the bond was released effective this date. <br />
