REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST FOR MINI - MARATHON FILED <br />JULY 9, 1979 <br />119 <br />Robert Goodrich, Director of the Public Recreation Commission, <br />requested permission to hold the Paul F. Boehm Mini- Marathon <br />in the area surrounding Rum Village Park on Saturday, August 4. <br />Copies of the route were enclosed and it was requested that <br />the business places on Gertrude Street be notified if the request <br />is approved. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE ASSUMPTION DRIVE ON AUGUST 12 FILED <br />The Board received a request from Rev. F. Thomas Lallak to close <br />Assumption Drive on Sunday, August 12 from noon until 10:00 p.m. <br />on Sunday, August 12 for a Parish Festival. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request'was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 200 BLOCK EAST WOODSIDE <br />The Board received a request from Charles May to close the 200 Block <br />East Woodside for a Block Party on Saturday, July 21 from 5 :00 p.m. <br />to midnight. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />PHILLIPA STREET SANITARY SEWER BID ACCEPTED <br />David A. Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration, <br />submitted to the Board a tabulation of bids received for the <br />construction of the Phillipa Street Sanitary Sewers and his <br />recommendation that the low bid of O'Neal Trucking Company in the <br />amount of $139,733.86 be accepted. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was <br />approved and the bid accepted. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATION APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light <br />recommendations: <br />Remove: Hole Project - 50,000L MV OH WP - $14.98/mo. <br />700 Block N. St. Joseph St. 7,000L MV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />Total Decrease - $10.18 /mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - WALL STREET <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request to hold. <br />a Block Party on Wall Street, from 1321 Wall Street to Twyckenham, <br />on July 14 from 4:00 p.m. to midnight. The Police Department <br />concurs with Mr. Wadzinski that approval is recommended. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Block Party was approved. <br />
