11t <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 2. 1979 <br />2. Erection of the fence and work may begin as requested <br />on July 5th, 1979. However, parking in the "hole" <br />will not be removed until July 10th. Any and all <br />construction anticipated between the 5th and the 10th <br />will be done in such a manner as to not impede or deny <br />access to vehicles under contract parking in the "hole" <br />Access will remain open to these contractual parkers <br />via the Washington Street gate. <br />3. Approval for use of old Michigan Street as a staging <br />area by the contractor will be withheld pending <br />notification of the City Controller and /or City <br />Traffic Engineer. <br />4. As stated in the letter from Sollitt Construction, all <br />fencing will be properly lighted. <br />5. The proposed 10' extension of the fence area on East <br />Colfax will require Indiana State Highway approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved, subject to conditions noted. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - 1800 BLOCK COLLEGE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of William Frame to hold a block party <br />in the 1800 block College Street on July 7 from 5:00 p.m. to <br />midnight had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval <br />is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the block party was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED —1300 -1500 BLOCK SUNNYMEDE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of Mary Eslinger to hold a block party <br />on Sunnymede, between Sunnyside and Twyckenham, on July 20 <br />from 5:00 p.m. to midnight (rain date- July 21) had been reviewed <br />with the Police Department and approval was recommended. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr„ Brunner and carried, <br />the block party was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - BELMONT STREET <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that the request of Louis Seago to hold a block party <br />on Belmont Avenue, from Sunnyside west to the first alley, on <br />Sunday July 15 (rain date - July 16) from 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. <br />had been reviewed with the Police Department and approval was <br />recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the block party was approved. <br />STREET SERVICES REQUEST REFERRED TO LEGAL DEPARTMENT <br />The Board received a report from Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that the request of Dora <br />Lottie to hold street services at Washington and Walnut from <br />4:00 to 7:00 p.m. during the month of July had been reviewed <br />with the Police Department and approval is recommended subject <br />to the rules of the Board of Works and provided the services <br />do not block pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request <br />and recommendation were referred to Deputy City Attorney Terry <br />Crone for review and recommendation. <br />
