log REGULAR MEETING REQUEST TO BLOCK ORANGE STREET APPROVED JULY 2, 1979 Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that the Park Department has requested the closing of Orange Street, from Birdsell to College, from 5:00 p.m. to 11;00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through August 16. The purpose of the closing is to provide additional parking for the summer basketball league at the King Center. Park Department personnel will barricade the streets and supervise the parking. The Board was advised that the State Highway Commission will open bids on July 24 for the construction of the Orange /Colfax connector and the approval should not be given beyond that date pending an award of contract. It was also noted that Park personnel should be advised there should be no parking on the grass. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the closing of Orange Street as requested through July 24, with any additional dates to be considered after the opening of bids for the construction of the connector. HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT APPROVED George J. Zack submitted an application for a Handicapped Parking Permit. Attached to the application was a statement from Mr. Zack's doctor regarding his disability. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of the permit. CLAIMS APPROVED Chief Deputy Controller Michael L. Vance Claim Docket Numbers 12265 through 12764 Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded carried, the Board approved Claim Docket and directed that checks for payment be CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED submitted to the Board and recommended approval. by Mr. Brunner and Numbers 12265 through 12764 issued. Certificates of Insurance written on behalf of Dillabaugh Moving Engineers and Mitschelen House Movers were submitted to the Board. The Certificates were in the proper limits of liability. Upon motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the Certificates were ordered filed. BOND APPROVED - JACK N. COLEMAN A Contractor's Bond for Jack N. Coleman was submitted to the Board. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, advised. the Board that the bond was properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was approved. BOND RELEASED - LA FREE EXCAVATING COMPANY The Board received a request from the surety company requesting release of the Excavation Bond of LaFree Excavating Company. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported that there are no outstanding permits against this contractor and a new bond has been filed. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was released.
