log <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK ORANGE STREET APPROVED <br />JULY 2, 1979 <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the Park Department has requested the <br />closing of Orange Street, from Birdsell to College, from 5:00 p.m. <br />to 11;00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through August 16. <br />The purpose of the closing is to provide additional parking for <br />the summer basketball league at the King Center. Park Department <br />personnel will barricade the streets and supervise the parking. <br />The Board was advised that the State Highway Commission will open <br />bids on July 24 for the construction of the Orange /Colfax <br />connector and the approval should not be given beyond that date <br />pending an award of contract. It was also noted that Park personnel <br />should be advised there should be no parking on the grass. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the closing of Orange Street as requested through <br />July 24, with any additional dates to be considered after the <br />opening of bids for the construction of the connector. <br />HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT APPROVED <br />George J. Zack submitted an application for a Handicapped Parking <br />Permit. Attached to the application was a statement from Mr. <br />Zack's doctor regarding his disability. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the application was <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for <br />issuance of the permit. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Chief Deputy Controller Michael L. Vance <br />Claim Docket Numbers 12265 through 12764 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded <br />carried, the Board approved Claim Docket <br />and directed that checks for payment be <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED <br />submitted to the Board <br />and recommended approval. <br />by Mr. Brunner and <br />Numbers 12265 through 12764 <br />issued. <br />Certificates of Insurance written on behalf of Dillabaugh Moving <br />Engineers and Mitschelen House Movers were submitted to the Board. <br />The Certificates were in the proper limits of liability. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, <br />the Certificates were ordered filed. <br />BOND APPROVED - JACK N. COLEMAN <br />A Contractor's Bond for Jack N. Coleman was submitted to the Board. <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, advised. the Board that <br />the bond was properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond <br />was approved. <br />BOND RELEASED - LA FREE EXCAVATING COMPANY <br />The Board received a request from the surety company requesting <br />release of the Excavation Bond of LaFree Excavating Company. <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported that there <br />are no outstanding permits against this contractor and a new bond <br />has been filed. Upon motion made by Mr, Mullen, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was released. <br />
