Fry, 61527 Orange Road, submitted a request to the <br />Board for information regarding the purchase of a city -owned <br />lot at 722 E. Broadway. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed and <br />referred to the Mayor's Office, Engineering Department, Park <br />Department and Community Development Department for review and <br />a determination as to whether the lot should be retained for <br />any purpose. <br />WAITER'S RACE APPROVED <br />The Hotel and Motel Association requested permission to hold <br />a Waiter's Race at 12:00 noon on July 2, 1979 beginning at Island <br />Park and continuing around the Century Center Property. The <br />event was coordinated by Mary Kay Huszar for Century Center and <br />a Certificate of Insurance has been filed. Upon.motion made by <br />Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />REQUEST FOR TENT SALE APPROVED - ESLINGER'S FURNITURE STORE <br />The Board received a request from Douglas Kile to hold the <br />Eslinger's Furniture and Appliance Company Annual Tent Sale <br />from July 3 to July 31 on their parking lot at 2701 S. Michigan. <br />It was noted that the tent has been secured from.City Awning <br />Company and is fireproof. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was approved, subject to <br />the requirements of the Building Department and the Fire Inspection <br />Bureau. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED FIRST BANK CENTER <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board recommendations for traffic control at the <br />site of the First Bank Center construction. He noted that the <br />Sollitt Construction Company has submitted a plan for proposed <br />fencing for the construction area and further requests the use <br />of Washington Street, the north 25' from the mid -block alley east <br />of old Michigan Street to Old Michigan and the use of old <br />Michigan Street for use as a staging area. Mr. Wadzinski <br />recommended approval subject to the following conditions: <br />1. A 10' fire lane shall remain free of all materials <br />and /or vehicles, and shall be located on the west <br />curb line of Old Michigan from Washington to Colfax. <br />
