100 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 1979 <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS FILED <br />The Board received the.following requests for Block Parties: <br />A. Louis Seago requested that Belmont Avenue be closed from <br />Sunnyside Avenue west to the first alley on Sunday, July 15 <br />from 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a.rain date of July 16. <br />B. William Frame requested that the 1800 block College be <br />closed from 5:00 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 7. <br />C. Mary Eslinger requested that the 1300 -1500 blocks of <br />Sunnymede Avenue be closed on Friday, July 20 from 5:00 p.m. <br />to midnight <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the requests were ordered filed and referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended the following street light installations and /or <br />removals: <br />Remove - Intersecting alleys bounded 1000L INC OH WP $1.91 /mo. <br />by Monroe,. Main, South and <br />Lafayette <br />Install- Intersecting alleys bounded 7000L MV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />by Monroe, Main, South and <br />Lafayette <br />600 S. Kenmore 7000L MV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />800 Oak Street 7000L MV OH 14P $4.80 /mo. <br />Total Increase $14.40 /mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED VASSAR AVENUE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request to close Vassar Avenue, <br />from Woodward to Riverside Drive, on Wednesday, July 4 from <br />5:00 p.m. to midnight had been reviewed with the Police Department <br />and approval was recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />JULY FOURTH FIVE MILE RUN APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request of River Bend Plaza to <br />conduct the Second Annual Fourth of July Five Mile Run had been <br />reviewed with the Police Department and arrangements have been <br />coordinated. The.run is to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Century <br />Center Parking Lot. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the run be <br />approved, subject to the filing of the necessary Certificate of <br />Insurance. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
