REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 1979 <br />PURCHASEOF JEEPS APPROVED FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Michael Borkowski requested permission to purchase two <br />AM General Jeeps at a base price of $4,600 each, with the added <br />option of a spare wheel and tire at $50.00 each, for a total <br />of $4,749.00 each. He noted that the Board had advertised for <br />bids on two occasions with no bids received and had authorized <br />the Police Department to negotiate the purchase. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Brunner and carried, the <br />Board approved the purchase of the two jeeps. <br />CAR WASH BID APPROVED <br />Chief Michael Borkowski advised the Board that the bids received <br />for car washes had been reviewed. Comet Car Wash was the low <br />bidder at $2.05 per vehicle for full service 0 -100 units per month <br />and $1.95 per vehicle for full service over 100 units per month. <br />The Department recommended that there be no award made for wet <br />wash only which did not prove successful last year. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET — PERMANENT EXHIBITS FOR DISCOVERY HALL <br />Richard Welch, Director of Discovery <br />and submitted to the Board the title <br />for Permanent Exhibits for Discovery <br />that he had reviewed the plans and he <br />Board is seeking bids for the exhibi <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />plans was signed. <br />97 <br />Hall Museum, was present <br />sheet approving the plans <br />Hall Museum. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />the title sheet approving the <br />ACCEPTANCE OF BIDS CARPET AND TILE FOR DISCOVERY HALL MUSEUM <br />Richard Welch, Director of Discovery Hall Museum, reported to the <br />Board that he had reviewed the bids received for carpeting and <br />floor tile for the Museum and he made a recommendation that the <br />Board accept the low bid of the Ries Furniture Company of $10,346.50 <br />for carpeting and the low bid of Powell and Associates of $24,137.00 <br />for floor tiling. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved and the <br />bids accepted. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - VEHICLES FOR THE BUREAU OF HOUSING <br />Chief Deputy Controller Michael L. Vance submitted-to the Board a <br />request to advertise for vehicles for the Bureau of Housing. Detailed <br />specifications are being prepared and Mr. Vance asked that bids <br />be received on July 9.
