1 1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 29, 1979 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3474, 1979 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />the 14' alley which abuts the North Side of the <br />Cathedral of St. James and runs east and west from <br />Lafayette Blvd. to St. James Court <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South:Berdto construct and maintain any facilities, <br />including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, <br />gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, <br />within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are released <br />by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Lots 387 and 388, Part of the Original Plat of South Bend <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 1st and 8th <br />day of June, 1979 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- County <br />News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 18th day of June, 1979 at <br />9:30 o'clock, A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all <br />persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 29th day of May, 1979. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Peter H. Brunner; Jr. <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />FILING OF PETITION TO CONSTRUCT SEWERS ON HAWBAKER STREET <br />The Board received a petition signed by property owners on <br />Hawbaker Street requesting that consideration be given to the <br />construction of sanitary sewers under Barrett Law. The petition <br />was submitted to the Board by Stan Pietzak on behalf of the <br />Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Association, Inc. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr, Mullen and carried, the <br />petition was filed and referred to the Bureau of Engineering <br />for review and preparation of preliminary plans, a cost <br />estimate, a preliminary assessment roll and Improvement Resolution. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following recommendations <br />for street light installation: <br />Central Business,;D;istrict, bounded by Michigan, St. Joseph, <br />LaSalle, >Willi:am.. and ,South Streets, - replace 360 street lights <br />with 50,000L HPS UG SP:- The new cost will approximately equal <br />the existing cost. <br />200 Block Fremont 7000LMV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />2400 Block Lawton 7000LMV OH WP 4.80 /mo. <br />2500 Block Lawton 7000L14V OH WP 4.80 /mo. <br />200 Block Meade 7000LMV OH WP 4.80 /mo. <br />2900 Block Fellows 7000LMV OH WP 4.80 /mo. Total $24.00 /mo. <br />Upon motion made by Mr.McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried <br />the recommendations were approved. <br />
