19 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 9, 1979 Gates Chevrolet Company Bid was signed by A. G. Irwin, South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted, Bid - One 1979 Chevrolet Cab and Chassis $5,300.93 Utility Body 1,644.00 Basney Ford Bid was signed by James Basney, South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - One 1979 Ford F250 Cab and Chassis Utility Body . $5,415.13 1,644.00 Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLERS This was the date set for receiving bids for traffic signal controllers. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Crescent Electric Company Bid was signed by Floyd A. Kline, Jr., Carmel, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid: Item 1 - Fixed Time Controller $1,982.00 Item 2 - 8 Phase Digital Controller 6,780.00 Item 3 - 4 Phase Digital Controller 4,567..00 Bell and Gustus, Inc. Bid was signed by Michael R. Waugh, Indianapolis, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid: Item 1 - Fixed Time Controller $2,040.18 Item 2 - 8 Phase Digital Controller 7,414.18 Item 3 - 4 Phase Digital Controller 5,287.74 Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. SECURITY ALARM CONTRACT APPROVED - OLD FIRE STATION TWELVE Chief Michael Borkowski reported to the Board that, in connection with the use of Old Fire Station 12 at 1040 Lincolnway East as a Police Special Operations Headquarters, the Department requested proposals from three vendors for a security alarm system. Following a review of these proposals, the Department is recommending acceptance of the proposal from Indiana Security Systems, Inc. at an initial cost of $840.00, plus $240 for Fire and Smoke Protection, and a monthly lease maintenance agreement cost of $25.00. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the contract was approved.
