Mr. Goodrich made motion to approve the fee requests. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion <br />and it was passed. <br /> <br />4.Request to Open and Award Tennis and Basketball Court Resurfacing Quotes- Mike <br />Dyszkiewicz <br />Mr. Dyszkiewicz presented three sealed quotes for basketball and tennis court repairs. <br />The three quotes were opened and read aloud. They were: <br /> A1 Striping- $34,300 <br /> Arnt Asphalt- $32,185 <br /> Stahley Construction- $33,450 <br />Mr. Bodnar pointed out that A1 Striping did not have the proper affidavits in their quote. <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to award the quote to Arnt Asphalt for the amount of $32,185. <br />Mr. Goodrich seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />V.Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. Mullins made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br /> <br />April 17, 2010 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Dr. Kelly and approved. <br /> <br /> <br />VI.Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Goodrich to approve maintenance vouchers for April 2010 <br />totaling $1,056,724.21. It was seconded by Dr. Kelly. There being no further discussion, <br />the motion was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.Business of Director St. Clair <br /> <br /> <br />1.Director St. Clair discussed part time employees that will need to be brought on full time <br />because of the amount of hours they work. They exceed the mandated hours of 1,612 per <br />year for part time. <br /> <br />2.In conjunction with Councilman Oliver Davis and Code Enforcement, grant monies for a <br />proactive anti-graffiti program are being explored. <br /> <br />3.Conservatory upgrades are still being planned, possibly this year, depending on funding. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Ms. O’Connor reported that many camps and programs are starting soon. Staff has been <br />hired and is being trained. <br /> <br />2.Arts in the Parks begins June 10 and summer concerts begin June 20. <br /> <br />3.Softball leagues started the last week of April and is doing well. <br /> <br />4.The “Night of Elegance” dance will be held at Century Center May 22. <br /> <br />5.“Walk the Walk” started two weeks ago with a walk through the Zoo and had good <br />attendance. Subsequent walks will be held along the East Race. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. DeRosa commented that the otters are on grounds and keepers are training them for <br /> - - 3 - - <br /> <br /> <br />
