He thanked them for their help and generosity. <br /> <br />3.The Zoo Society is interviewing master plan companies to update the Zoos’ master plan. <br />They hope to have three companies bid on the project. <br /> <br />4.The Zoo will participate in Urban Adventure again this year. <br /> <br />5.The Zoo will participate in the River Park Association parade this May 22. <br /> <br />6.The tree give away took place on May 1. <br /> <br />7.The Zoo Society paid a keeper to go to the Toledo Zoo for a workshop on otters. <br /> <br /> <br />X.Comments by the Development Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. Payton said an initial meeting of the Park Foundation board will take place. <br />Prospective members will meet with Director St. Clair, Mayor Luecke, and himself to <br />address individuals that have expressed interest. <br /> <br />2.The summer activity guide has been distributed this week. More than usual have been <br />ordered. <br /> <br />3.Online registration will be opened up this week. <br /> <br />4.Golf advertising has been ongoing in a number of radio venues. <br /> <br />5.The Silver Hawks program contains an advertising piece from the Park Department. <br /> <br />6.Mr. Moyers is assisting in filing reports for the “Project Hire” grant. <br /> <br /> <br />XI.Comments by Maintenance Superintendent <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. Dyszkiewicz reported that year to date 115 parks and 195 islands have been cut by <br />mowing crews, way ahead of last year. <br /> <br />2.The Central Mowing crew has been receiving 275 citations per week. 252 city properties <br />have been cut. <br /> <br />3.Recycling is underway for the Park system. <br /> <br />4.The REAL Services “Project Hire” grant has increase the manpower of the maintenance <br />staff by eleven. <br /> <br />5.Paving will be done at the Erskine Golf Course and Charles Black Center parking lots in <br />June. The work will be done by the Street Department. <br /> <br />6.Pools will be opening the second week of June. <br /> <br /> <br />XII.Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br /> <br />1.Mr. Nowacki noted that revenues and rounds are up despite the recent rain. <br /> <br />2.He commended his staff for the work they did over the winter to revamp their operations. <br /> <br />3.He introduced the new concessions managers, Tammy Essig at Elbel, and Tracy Rhodes at <br />Erskine. He commended them for upgrading the menus and offering specials. Mr. <br />Goodrich thanked them for their help with his recent tournament. <br /> <br />4.Golf leagues are underway. <br /> - - 4 - - <br /> <br /> <br />
