Request to Approve Interlocal Agreement regarding Property at 521 Eclipse- Catherine <br />Toppel <br /> Ms. Toppel, Director of Code Enforcement, requested the Board approve the interlocal <br />agreement between Code Enforcement, the Parks Department, and the Redevelopment <br />Commission regarding the renovation of an existing building for use as an animal shelter at <br />521 Eclipse. This property is owned by the Park Department. <br /> She said an updated agreement was being faxed over and she would present it to the <br />Board later in the meeting. <br />4. Request to Approve Contract for Pony Rides at Potawatomi Zoo- Terry DeRosa <br /> Mr. DeRosa reported that a new source will be used to provide ponies for the pony rides <br />at the Zoo this year. He asked the Board to approve the contract and resolution 2010-1 <br />allowing him to sign the contract on behalf of the Park Board. <br /> Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve the contract and resolution 2010-1. Mr. Mullins <br />seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />V.Approval of the minutes of the last regular meeting of the Board held on January 18, <br />2010 and Special Meeting held February 8, 2010. <br />Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br />January 18, 2010 and the special meeting held February 8, 2010 as mailed. The motion was <br /> <br />seconded by Dr. Kelly and approved. <br /> <br /> <br />VI.Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for January 2010 <br />totaling $615,638.60 and February 2010 totaling $758.475.09. It was seconded by Dr. <br />Kelly. There being no further discussion, the motion was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.Business of Director St. Clair <br /> <br />1. Director St. Clair reported that repairs and upgrades at the Conservatory are being <br />discussed with Notre Dame, architects and engineers. These would be done over the <br />coming years in three phases. These would be to a. demolish the growing houses and <br />install new heating, b. upgrade the infrastructure and electrical system, and c. add a <br />community room for classes and rentals. The estimate is from$1.6-1.9 million. <br />2. We have received a federal grant through REAL Services. It is a $353,000 grant, <br />$290,000 will be for Parks. It will fund 25 positions through the summer. <br />3. Ms. Teresa Pembrooke, of Greenplay, Inc., will be giving talks on revenue planning and <br />marketing over the next two and a half days. She has presented at the Reitz Revenue and <br />Marketing School. She will do a seminar for employees this afternoon and tomorrow, and <br />address the IPRA meeting on Wednesday. <br /> <br /> - - 3 - - <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
