8,6 <br />Tuesday, June I4t,., I927. <br />• <br />following report: <br />"t1ith the return'of attached remonstrance against improvement of <br />Tecumseh hvenue from Wakewa to Parkovash, I respectfully submit the following report. <br />There. are seven resident property holders on this street, with a total <br />vote of twelve, five of th e proper ea having a joint deed. There are six legal <br />signatures upon the attached remonstrance. This does not constitute a majority, there <br />fore, the remonstrance does not hold. <br />Yours very truly, <br />H. G. Wray, City Engineer," <br />On the following. -:.named improvement resolutions the Board hereby orders <br />that on the 28th., day of June, I927, the Board will receive, open and consider sealed <br />proposals for the following improvements: <br />Pavement on Altgeld Street from west line of High Street to Yiami Street <br />under Improvement Resolution No.I843. <br />Pavement on Tecumseh Street from North curb line of V,akewa Avenue to <br />South curb line of Parkovash Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I84I. <br />Pavement on Wakewa Avenue from Michigan Street to west lin of Tecumseh <br />Street under Improvement Resolution No.I842. <br />The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be publish <br />ed on the I7th. , day of June and on the 24th. , day of June, 1927, in the South Bend <br />News Times and Tribune. <br />The Board approved the retttion of the I4diana & 11lichigan Electric <br />Co., to set poles in the distict between Prairie Aiaenue and Chapin Street and between <br />the New York entral Railroad and Sample Street, due to improvements on Chapin Street. <br />Upon the recommendation of Wm. F. Qualls, superintendent, the Board granted this per- <br />mission, <br />In the matter of the petition signed by property owners for a change <br />of a type of pavement other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pave- <br />ment on LaSalle Avenue under"Resolution No.I8I2, the City Engineer, filed <br />the following report: <br />"There are I2 resident property property owners within the limits of <br />this improvement, five of whom have legally signed this petition for a change of type <br />of pavement. This does not constitute a majority petitions, and therefore, I would <br />recommend that a final order be issued for the same material specified in the prelimin- <br />ary order. <br />Yours very truly, <br />H. 'dray, City12 <br />igineer." <br />The petition filed for a change of the type of pavement other than that <br />specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of LaSalle Avenue from Matn Street <br />to a point I7 feet west.of east line of Lot 4 in Killer's Sub, under Improvement <br />'Resolution Ido.I8I2, did not constitute a majority of resident property owners, therefore <br />;the Board, this I4th., day of June, 1927, hereby, makes a final order for sheet asphalt <br />as the tjpe of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract <br />for said Improvement to the `dillis ton Construction Co., at their low bid of $21, 708.40 <br />for sheet asphalt with metropolitan brick in street car tracks and with the street <br />closed to traffic during the period of construction. <br />No retitions having been filed for a change of the type of pavement on <br />Lincoln Way West from North line of LaSalle Avenue to west line of Cottage Grove Avenue <br />under Improvement Resolution 10.I8I3, the Board this I4th.1 day of June, I92?7, hereby <br />makes a final order for sheet asphalt as the tape of pavement with which said street <br />shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to the -.-iilliston Con- <br />struction Co., at their low bid of 63,299.I2 for sheet asphalt with metropolitan brick <br />in car tracks and with the street closed to traffic during the period of construction,' <br />City Engineer, Mr. H. G.
