Friday, May 2 7th >_1932 4 OQU Ordinance No.2984. ; i An Ordinance providing f-or the appointment of a Street Commissioner and fixing his salary; eliminating and vacating the Deputy office of a Street Commissioner and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith. ' Be it ordained by t he Common Council of the Cit y of South Bend., Indiana � Section 1. That the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana , be, and here by i s authorized and empowere d to c- ppoint a Street Commissioner. Section. 2 • That the sal^ ry of said Street Commissioner shall be Three Thousand Two ' Hundred Thirty ($39230.00) Dollars • per year, which salary shell be paid at such times as other sale Ties are paid. Section 3. That the office of a Deputy Street Commissioner, be and the same is here- � by forthwith eleiminated, vacated, aid declared non-existent. Section 4. 'I That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall be i n full force andeffect from and after its passage j • Grover D. Be it further still resolved that the hiayor and Lepsrtment heads forthwith take j action to eliminate the fo llcu ing employees: ; 2 assistant Clerks in Engineer's office; , 2 Assistant Engineertq office ; 1 Draftsman in Engineer's office i 2 inspectors in Building Lepartment 2 Barrett Law Clerks in• Treasurer's Offic e; 1 Deputy City Clerk; in Clerk's office; Assistant Clerk in Board of Works Off ce ; 3 c artmen and 8 helpers in Street Department; 1 Office Clerk and 3 labors in City Cemetery Dept. ; 1 Aviation Boa rd Clerk; 1 City Plan Secretary; and e it further resolved that the office of Legal Adviser in the Y:Iater Works Depart- ment be elimim ted; and Be it still further resolved that the City Clerk forthwith transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the 1118yor and to each of the executive departments of the C it y; and. Be it still further resolved that within five (5) days after receipt from the ' City Clerk of a certified copy of this resolution, the Mayor and also the heads of the several executive departments of the City separately notify the Common Council b written repcart of the action taken in the premises.
