Street under Improvement jj <br />Resolution No.2299 in the amount of I�ISI.60. The Board also approved the construction) <br />bond of same for 100% of the contract price signed by the Great American Indemntty Co. <br />J The Board signed the contract with John F. g Hipskind for the construction I <br />of- Q sev,er in Huey Street from Lot I9 Prast Sub to Longley Avenue and -on Longley Avenue <br />from" Huey ' Street to Olive Street, -under Improvement Resolution No, 2300, in the amount of <br />$29499.44-. - The Board also approved the construction bond of same for I00% of the contract <br />price signed by the Great American Indemnity Co.. <br />The Board signed the,,contract with Tranberg for the construction of grade <br />curb and walk'on High Street from F irview-Avenue to Donmoyer Avenue under Improvement <br />Resolut ion No.I956 in the amount of_ $3 6II.22. The Board also approved the construction <br />bond of same in the -amount of JI00% of the contract price signer by Fidelity end Ca sua It <br />Company of New York. <br />This being the date set, continued' hearing was had on Improvement Resolu '! <br />tion No.2304 for the pavement of Hydraulic Avenue from a point 136 feet north of LaSalle, <br />Avenue to the east race bridge. <br />In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared protes, <br />ing against this proposed improvement and -after hearing all re rsons interested in said <br />improvement- and being fully advised in the premises, the Board decides to take final <br />action on said resolution and declares same rescinded and all former action taken on sail <br />1'resolftion is hereby declares null and void and the proceedings closed. <br />I` <br />Phis being the date setFr, continued hearing was had on Improvement Resolu- <br />tion No.2302 for the pavement of the west one half of Logan Street from the north line of <br />11ishawaka -venue to the south edge of the concrete pavement in Jefferson Blvd. <br />In the above named improvement resolution, a written remonstrance having <br />bees filed against this improvement, the Board decides to take f inal action on said resol <br />utios and. declares same null and void and all proceedings pescind.ed and the proceedings <br />!closed. <br />This. being -the da=e set, hearing was had on Condemnation Resolution No.. <br />23I2 for the .opening of Wa shington Avenue from Orange Street to Bendix Drive. <br />In the -above named condemnation resolution, the Board decides to continue <br />'hearing until l� ovember 26th. , I929 , at I0:00 A. M. <br />Upon the, recommendation of City Attorney, Mr. I. S. Romig, the Board <br />adopted and approved the following Resolution: <br />RESOLUT 10N. <br />WI]WREAS, the Grand Trunk Western Railway Company has abandoned its track <br />on Division Street between Michigan Street and Laurel Street; and <br />Vv'HEREAS, at the request of this Board said Railway Company did not take <br />up its rails and ties upon said part of Division Street, but agreed to leave them until <br />the Spring of I930, and until the City can have an opportunity to replace the space now <br />Occupied by such, ties. and rails with suitable pavement, when it will remove theta at the <br />jj equest of this Department. <br />NOW, for and. in consideration of the said Railway Company leaving its <br />rails and ties on said street for -the benefit of the City, this Board agrees to <br />keep said road bed in safe repair, and thereby relieve said railway Company from all <br />liability to keep the street in repair and safe, -condition for public travel until such <br />
