<br />continued for one week, during which time these property owners expect to work
<br />out some plan of assessment on the lots along said Kline Street. The Board
<br />decides to -grant said request and continues hearing until August 7th., 1929.
<br />This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement
<br />resolutions:
<br />improverr:ent Resolution No. 2259 for the pavement of Fremont Street from
<br />Lincoln flay Kest to Humboldt Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
<br />Improvement Resoluition No.2260 for the pavement of Huey Street from Lincoln
<br />'Way West to Elwood Avenue. (See files for copy of - resolution.) .
<br />In both of the above named improvement resolutions, no remonstrators appeared
<br />but no written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being fully advised in the
<br />premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and, parcels of •land - liable to.
<br />be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost .of same as
<br />reported by the City Engineer. The Board therefore, decides to take final action on
<br />said resolutions and declares sare in all things ratified, confirmed and approved
<br />without modification.
<br />The Board now orders in the matter of noth of the above named improvement
<br />resolutions, that on the 20th., day of August, 1929, this Board will receive, ppen
<br />and read sealed proposals up to 10:00 A. V. The Board further orders that notices
<br />of said proposals shall be published on the 9th. , day of August and on the Nth.,
<br />day of August 1929, according to law in the south Bend News 'dimes and Tribu4e.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was bad on the assessment roll showing the
<br />awards of damages and assessments of benefits in the matter of the opening and
<br />extension of Linden Avenue and Bendix Drive under Condemnation Resolution No.2243.
<br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
<br />remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that
<br />the several lots and parcels of, land have been benefited and damaged. in the amounts
<br />shown on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said
<br />assessment roll -and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved with
<br />out modification and the proceedings closed.
<br />Upon the recommendation of City Aagineer, H. G. Wray, the Board adopted the
<br />following resolutions, which were filed by the County Commissioners:

<br />Resolved by the Board of Public '►otks of the City of South Bend, Indiana, That:
<br />Whereas, on Yay 6th., I929, Harry CO Matthews, and others, filed before the
<br />Board of 8ommidsioners, of St. Joseph Counter, in _the State of Indiana, their amended
<br />petiion to locate, lay out, open and establish a new public highway, in Portage,
<br />Centre and Union Townships of said County; in which proceedings, the beginning,
<br />course and termination of said proposed highway is as follows:
<br />A public highway 80 feet wide with the width of 40 feet on each side of a
<br />line running as follows: Beginning at the intersection of Altgeld Street and York
<br />Road as shown in Ridgedale Proposed Fourth Addition, thence South along a line making
<br />an included angle of 89 fegrees and 47 minutes measured from the center line of
<br />Altgeld Street to the East of York Road, a distance of 222.70 feet to the point of
<br />curvature of a curve to the right having a tangent distance of 230 feet, an angle of
<br />intersection of 30 degrees 44 minutes and a radius of 836.91 feet., thence Southwesterl;
<br />along said curve to the point of tangency of said curve, thence Southwesterly along the
<br />tangent -to said curvve a distance of 88.76 feet., to the point of curvature of a curve
<br />to the left having a tangent distance of 272.II feet., an angle of intersection of
<br />89 degrees and 47 minutes and a radius of 273.I4 feet., thence Southeasterly along
<br />said curve to the point of reverse curvature, thence southeasterly alolig a curve to
<br />the right having a tangent distance of 150 feet., an intersection angle of 5I degrees
<br />and I minute and a radius of 314.36 feet., to the point of tangency of said curve;
<br />thence Southeasterly along the tangent to said curve a distance of 743.80 feet., to
<br />the point of curvature of a curve to the left having a tangent of 200 feet, an inter-
<br />section angle of 23 degrees and 15 minutes and a radius of 972.17 feet., thence
