<br />The Board signed the contract with Eston� Tial 1 for the grading of
<br />the alley west of Tfiami Street from rairview Avenue tocenter line of Ist., alley
<br />south of Fairview Avenue and the construction of retaining wall under Improvement
<br />Resolution No.2130 in the amount of 212.-50. The Board also approved roved the construction
<br />bond of same for I50� of the contract price signed by Maryland Casualty Co.*
<br />The Board approved the recommendation of 'Wm. F. walls for the
<br />-installation of'4000 lumen light at IN-1.1ber Street between Humboldt and 'i,'lwood Avenue
<br />at a cost of 45.00 per year.

<br />awards the contract for said improvement to Edward Di Julio at his bid of 4,045.50.
<br />Bids having been received for the grade, curb and walk improvement
<br />on 35th., Street under Improvement Resolution No.2145, the Board this 2Ist., day of
<br />November 1928, hereby awards the contract for said Improvement to Harry X. Barnes
<br />at his bid of 3,078.20.
<br />Bids having been received for the pavement of Sample Street from
<br />west line of Olive Street to west property line of N.J. I.; I. R. R., under Improve
<br />meat resolution No. 2144, the Board this 2Ist., day of November 1928, hereby makes a
<br />preliminary order or concrete pavement heavy traffic as the type of pavement with
<br />which said -street shall be improved and sets the 4th. , day of December 1928, as the
<br />time when said Board shall either act on petitions for a change in the type of pavement
<br />other than that specified in the preliminary order, award the contract or reject all
<br />bids. '
<br />City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed the following primary assessment
<br />rolls:
<br />Assessment roll for the pavement on Napier Street from Walnut Street
<br />to east curb line of Cherry Street under Improvement Resolution No.2044.
<br />Assessment roll for the pavement on Altgeld Street from west line
<br />of Yarine Street to east line of 1,iarni Heights Addition under Improvement Resolution
<br />No.2087.
<br />In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board, hereby,
<br />orders that on the 5th., day of December 1928, this Board will meet in their office in
<br />the City Hall at 7-15 P. TVT. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
<br />property has been assessed for.:Said imptovements and will decide whether the several
<br />lots and parcels of land have 'been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said
<br />rolls or in a greater or less sum than that named on said primary rolls. The Board
<br />further orders that o ices of said hearings shall be published on the JAd., day of
<br />December and on the day of December 1928, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune,
<br />according to law.
