<br />.at 10:00 A. IT,, to heeir and receive.remonstrances from all persons whose property
<br />has been Assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and
<br />parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been benefited in the
<br />amounts named on said roll or in a greater or less sum than that named on said roll. -
<br />This being the date set,, hearing vas had on the assessment roll for the pavement

<br />'College Street from Elwood Avenue to ITCeller Streit under Improvement Resolution
<br />No.1983.-
<br />• In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
<br />remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that
<br />the evveral lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been
<br />benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. The Board therefore, takes
<br />final action on said assessment roll filed July 27th., 1924 and declares same in all
<br />things
<br />ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now
<br />orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
<br />At the request of Schuyler Ackerman and the American Surety Co., of New York
<br />the Board signed a release from further liability on the $I,000,00 bond dated June
<br />Ist.,,1923. This release effective only as to liabilities after this 3rd.,
<br />day of
<br />July 1928.
<br />•The Board signed the contract with Harry N. Barnes for the improvement of
<br />Streets in Summit Place Fifth Addition under Improvement Resolution 11o.2078. The Board
<br />also approved the construction bond of same for 100% of the contract price signed by
<br />the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co.
<br />The Board signed the contract with Snyder Construction Co., for the pavement of,
<br />the first alley west of Miami Street from Broadway to Indiana Avenue under Improverpent
<br />Resolution No.2065. The Board also approved the construction bond of same signed by
<br />Federal Surety Co.
<br />The Board approved the recommendation of Wm. F. Qualls, authorising the lights
<br />in Co-quillard Woods Addition.
<br />The Board approved Lit. Wray's recommendation that all action be rescinded on
<br />Improvement Resolution No.2070 for the pavement of the alley south of Haney Avenye
<br />from Fellows Street to Rush Street as the remonstrance filed... June 26th.
<br />1928, shows a majority of property owners against said improvement. The Board, there
<br />fore, rescinds all former action taken on said improvement resolution null and void
<br />and the proceedings closed.
<br />The Board approved Yr. Wray's recommendation that all a-atione be rescinded on
<br />the resolution for the pavement of the first alley west of Lafa�ette Street from
<br />Parkovash to Ostemo StreetunderImprovement Resolution No.2069,, as the remonstrance
<br />filed June 29th., 1928, shows a large majority of property owners against said
<br />• j improvement. The Board, therefore rescinds all former action taken on sald improvement
<br />resolution and declares same null and Void and the proceedings closed.
<br />This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2096 fof
<br />the Elwood Avenye Trunk Sewer.
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, no remonstrators appeared and no
<br />written -emonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
<br />finds that the area or district to be frained is properly bounded and that the special
<br />benefits to the property within such district or area, and the benefits, if any, to the
<br />City, will be equal to the estimated cost of said improvement as reported by the City
<br />• Engineer. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said improvement
<br />Resolution No.2096 and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved
<br />without modification.
<br />This being the date set hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2097
<br />for the Humboldt Street Trun- fewer.
<br />In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared and a written
<br />remonstrance was filed. After hearing all persons interested in said improvement,
<br />the Board finds that the area or district to be drained is properly bounded and that
<br />the special benefits to the property within such district or area, and the benefits,
<br />if any, to the City, will be equal to the estimatedcost of same as reported by the
<br />City Engineer. The Board, therefore de&ides to over rule said remonstrance, and
<br />declares said improvement Resolution No.2097 in all things ratified, confirmed and
<br />approved without modification.
<br />In the matters of improvement Resolution No.2096 On* the Elwood Avenue Trunk
<br />Sewer and Improvement Resolution No.2097 for the Humboldt Street trunk Sewer, the
<br />Board hereby orders that on the 17th., day of July 1928, this,, Board will receive, open
<br />and read sealed proposals for the construction of said trunk sewers up to 10:00 A. V-0
<br />The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published )n the 6thoil
<br />day of July and on the I3th. , day of July 1928, in the South Bend News Times and Tribunq
<br />according to law.
