P_ <br />654 <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />In the matter of the Bids for the Improvement of North South alley between Main Street and Michigan St. <br />from West Calvert Street to Dayton Street by constructing a permanent type 7" concrete pavement in a - <br />ccordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2859, 1957 passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety on <br />August 5, 1957 and confirmed by said Board on August 19, 1957, we hereby report that we have tabulated <br />and examined the several.bids submitted to the Board on September 9, 1957 and find that the McIntyre & <br />Jones Construction Company has best and lowest bid. <br />We recommend that the bid of the McIntyre & Jones Construction Company be accepted. <br />Clyde E. Williams & Associates <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACE <br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the premised, the Board of Public Works <br />and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana decides that the bid of the McIntyre & Jones Construction <br />Company for the construction of the improvement known as the North South Alley between Main and Michi- <br />gan Streets Improvement according to Improvement Resoolution No. 2859, 1957 is the lowest and best bid <br />and that the contract to do said work be awarded to the McIntyre & Jones Construction Company. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2860, 1957 <br />REFERRING BIDS TO ENGINEER <br />The bids for the improvement of Brookfield Street from approximately 170 feet south of Lathrop Street <br />to Bergan Street by constructing a local sewer received on September 92 1957, in accordance with Im- <br />provement Resolution No. 2860, 1957, passed by this Board on August 5, 1957, and confirmed by this <br />Board on August 199 1957, are hereby referred to your for examination and tabulation and to report to <br />this. Smith <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />In the matter of the Bids for the Improvement of Brookfield Street from approximately 170 feet south <br />of Lathrop Street to Bergan Street by constructing a local sewer in accordance with Improvement Reso- <br />lution No. 2860, 1957 passed by the Board of Public Works and Safety on August 5, 1957, and confirmed <br />by said Board on August 199 1957, we hereby report that we have tabulated and examined the several bids <br />submitted to the Board on September 9, 1957 and find that the Niles Excavating Company has the lowest <br />and best bid. <br />We recommend that the bid of the Niles Excavating Company be accepted. <br />Clyde E. Smith <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />In the matter of the Bids for the improvement of Northside Boulevard from Twyckenham Drive to Sample <br />Street by constructing a Class "B" Pavement in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2861, 1957 <br />and confirmed by this Board on Augsut 19, 19579 we hereby report that we have examined the several <br />bids submitted to the Board on September 9, 1957 and find that the McIntyre & Jones Construction Co. <br />has the lowest and best bid for a Class "B" Type 1 pavement and that the Rieth Riley Construction Co. <br />has the lowest and best bid for a Class "B" Type 3 pavement. <br />We recommend that the kind of pavement placed on the above street be Class "B" Type 3 Pavement. <br />Clyde E.
