Sheehan, Manager of the Green Arrow Parking Inc. herewith requests permission to change the <br />rates on the following Parking Lots in the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />k <br />Lot #22, located at 125 E. Jefferson, from 35¢ for the first hour and 10¢ each <br />additional hour, to 354 for the first hour and 15¢ for each additional <br />hour. <br />Lot #17, located at 121 North Main Street, from 25¢ for the first hour and 10� <br />each additional hour, to 35� for the first hour and 15¢ for each addi- <br />tional hour. <br />Lot #20, located at 307 North Michigan Street, from 35� all day and 50� all night, <br />to 25¢ for the first hour, 10� for each additional hour, 50� all day and <br />75� all night parking. <br />Mrs. H. R. Larimer requests permission on behalf of the Mother's of World War II to conduct a Tag Day <br />on the 8th and 9th days of November, 1957. Permission granted. <br />The Chamber of Commerce hereby requests permission to conduct a parade on the 27th day of September, 1957 <br />on behalf of the Metropolitan Opera Concert Permission granted. <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the matter of the order issued to the Alby's Steak House, <br />1040 W. Western Avenue. Appeared at this time are Nick ClIolis, Attorney; representative of the Midwest ` <br />Aluminum Sales, Inc; and Verner L. Lane, Building Commissioner.The matter discussed now in regards to <br />an order issued to Alby's Steak House khereby they are in violation of Ordinance No. 2243, commonly known'; <br />as the Building Code of the City of South Bend inasmuch as the front of said building which is being re- <br />faced with a 4 inch stone enroaches upon public property. The Board now requests that a complete invest <br />igation as to the correct property line be made and report submitted to the Building Commissioner for <br />hearing next Monday, September 23, 1957. <br />Also, on the matter of the orders issued to the S & W Fruit Market, 2025 S. Michigan Street and the ownr j <br />of the property at 2023 South Michigan Streets whereby said owners failed to comply with the orders of <br />the Building Commissioner, the Board now authorizes Mr. Lane to refer the case to Norman Kopec, Attorney.; <br />Further, on the recommendation of the Building Commissioner the hearing scheduled for today which in- <br />volves the property at 138 South Dundee Street will be continued for 2 weeks. Hearing to be held on the <br />30th day of September, 1957. <br />A petition is hereby received from Mr. Edmund Berk and several others asking for the vacation of Hartman <br />Drive, in Wooded Estates from the easterly right of way line of Oak Ridge Drive east 100 feet. Petition <br />referred to the City Planning Commission for investigation and recommendation. <br />The Petition of Belleville Investment Company is submitted to the Board for the improvement of Lombardy <br />Drive from the south line of Linden Avenue southward a distance of approximately five hundred eighty <br />feet (the exact lobation of which said desired improvement is for greater ckarity of understanding out- <br />lined in red on the attached engineering drawing of a portion of said Lombardy Drive) by the construct- <br />tion of a concrete pavement thirty-six feet in width. Petition referred to the City Engineering Depart- <br />ment for investigation and report. <br />PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY <br />Comes now Irvin F. Sikorski, who first being duly sworn upon his oath, according to law, deposes and <br />says: <br />That he and his wife, Gertrude E. Sikorski, are the owners of Lot Numbered One Thousand Ten (1010) of La <br />Salle Park Second Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the owners of the South Eighty (80') <br />feet of Lot Numbered One Thousand Nine (1009) on the recorded Plat of LaSalle Park Second Addition to the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />That the partial plat, incorporated herein and markdd "Exhibit A" for reference, discloses th t between <br />said Lot Numbered 1010 and the south eighty (80) feet of Lot Numbered 1009 is a fourteen (14'� public <br />alley that seperates the real estate owned by the petitioners herein. That running north and south along <br />the west side of the south eighty (80) feet of Lot 1009 is a part of the North -South public alley that <br />does not extend to Western Avenue because the north -south portion immediately west and adjacent to Lot <br />1010 was vacated, pursuant to Vacation Resolution 1809. That the east -west portion of the alley sep- <br />arating the petitioner's real estate does not extend through to Sheridan Street but instead Makes a <br />turn along the west end of petitioner's real estate. <br />Your petitioner would further state that he has for some years last past operated a commercial enterprise <br />known as Trudy's Drive -In and that the expansion of the business has been such that the Said south <br />eighty (30) feet/ of Lot 1009 are now required for purposes of parking of vehicles, service trucks and <br />other equipment incidental to the operation of the business. That your petitioner respectfully submits <br />to the Honorable Board that he would dedicate a fourteen (141) public alley on the north side of the <br />south eighty (80) feet of Lot Numbered 1009 if the Board deems a public alley necessary in this area <br />if the Board will vacate the present east -west public alley between Lots 1010 and 1009 that now separate.c <br />the real estate owned by the petitioner and that portion of the north -south publicalley that is adjacent; <br />to and west of the aforesaid south eighty (80) feet of Lot Numbered 1009, <br />WHEREFORE, your petitioner respectfully :;requests favorable consideration of this petition. <br />The Board now refers said petition to the office of the City Plgbning for investigation and recommendation <br />'I <br />A <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />- 0 <br />
