Upon evidence as submitted by the Police Department and also confirming the report <br />of the City Controller, the Board now finds it necessary to deny the request of said Paul Lile, for the <br />license. <br />In the matter of the Peitition of the Bowman Cemetery Association of St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, <br />for the city of South Bend to accept the transfer of said cemetery, the Board having held a public hearing <br />on the 9th day of September, 1957 and there appearing no remonstrators in regards to same and the Board <br />having made a thorough investigation and satisfied that there are some 110 graves of individuals who have <br />been in different -branches of the service and finding it necessary to take over and rhaintain said graves, <br />the Board heretofore accepts the Quit -Claim Deed of the Bowman Cemetery Association which the Secretary <br />of the Board is directed to record, further an Affidavit as submitted by Cecil D. Walz, Secretary which <br />the Secretary of the Board is directed to record, and also the Assignment unto the City of South Bend, <br />St. Joseph County, Indiana, all of the Bowman Cemetery Assocations's right, title and interests in a cer- <br />tain Trust Agreement dated the 7th day of Octobers 1939 be and between said Association and the St. Joseph <br />Bank and Trust Company which the Secretary of The Board is directed to record also. <br />The City Controller is now authorized to make the necessary arrangements with the St. Joseph Bank & Trust <br />Company in regards to the transfer of funds. The Board now wishes to thank Mr. Cecil D. Walz and Robert <br />K. Rodibaugh for bringing up to date facts necessary to expedite our investigation. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2854, 1957 <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT <br />After due investigation of all bids and being duly advised on the premises, the Board of Public Works and <br />Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana decides that the bid of the Reed Construction Company for the <br />construction of the improvement knows as the Vassar Avenue Pavement Improvement according to Improvement <br />Resolution No. 2354, 1957 is the lowest and best bid and that the contract to do said work be awarded to <br />the Reed Construction Company for a Class "C" Type 1 Cement Concrete Pavement. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2358, 1957 <br />REFERRING BIDS TO ENGINEER <br />The Bids for the improvement of South 34th Street from East Jefferson Boulevard to East Washington Street <br />by constructing an established grade, catch basins, and accepted curbing received on September 9, 1957 <br />in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2353, 19579 passed by this Board on August 5, 1957 and <br />confirmed by this Board on August 19, 1957, are hereby referred to your for examination and tabulation <br />and to report to this Board with recommendations. <br />R.
