Case, Contractor, is hereby given permission to erect a new canopy on Lawson's jewelry Store upon <br />recommendation of the Building Commissioner. <br />The Pioneer's Women's organization appeared before the Board requesting permission to conduct a tag day on <br />the 3rd day of June, 1957. Permission granted. <br />Mrs. Ellen B. Rosansky, 1630 Churchill Drive representing the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Jewish "War Veterans <br />j requests permission to conduct a tag day on June 17, 1957. Permission granted. <br />Mr. R. Dolan appeared before the Board regarding communications with reference to free transportation for • <br />senior citizens 65 yrs. old or over. Matter taken under advisement. <br />The contracts for Street improvement on Eddy Street from South Bend Avenue to Angela Blvd under Contract <br />No. 4, 1957 for the City of South Bend, Indiana are hereby approved by the Board this 20th day of May, 1957. <br />The Assessment Roll for Local Sewer on Pershing Street from 149 feet west of Johnson Street to Elmer Stre <br />under Improvement Resolution No. 2851, 1957 is approved. <br />Rev. Hendricks appeared before the Board representing the All Saints Evangelical Church requesting per- <br />mission to close High Street between Ewing Avenue and Altgeld for a youth ear wash on Saturday, 11iay 25, <br />1957. Permission granted. <br />Also, Rev. Wilson Parks, 312 E. Broadway of the Board E. U. B. church appeared before the Board requesting;; <br />permission to close Carroll Street from alley to Boardway for youth car wash, on Saturday, May 25, 1957. j <br />Permission granted. <br />The Board now awards the Bids for the Street and Sewer Departments .which were opened at last week's meeting;: <br />STREET DEPARTMENT <br />Elgin Sweeper Company A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's <br />Elgin, Illinois bond in the amount of $1400.00 accompanied. <br />the bid. <br />One (1) motorized Street Sweeper <br />Total bid price ---------------- $13,315.00 <br />SEWER DEPARTMENT <br />International Harvester Company <br />1319 S. (DST) it was so announced and the bids for the Council Room P.A. Systems <br />were opened. Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G.
