<br />FINAL CONFIRMATION OF IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION

<br />For the improvement of South Lake Street from the North line of Jefferson Blvd. to the South line of A
<br />Washington Street by constructing a Class "C" pavement (types 1 to 4) under Improvement Resolution No. 2846,,
<br />19569 adopted August 27, 1956 and first confirmed on September 17, 1956.
<br />No written remonstrance or remonstrances against said improvement bearing the signatures of fifty-one;
<br />(51%) per cent or more of the resident property owners on said street to be improved, having been filed within
<br />;the ten (10) day period following the date andtime of the hearing on said improvement, therefore
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that Im-
<br />provement Resolution No. 2846, 1956, duly adopted by this Board on August 27, 19569 and first confirmed on
<br />September 17, 1956, be and the same is in all things finally confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered';
<br />made.

<br />a BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that the
<br />�rofiles, Drawings, Plans General Details, Specifications and Estimates approved by this Board on the 27th
<br />day of August, 1956, for the improvement of South Lake Street from the North line of Jefferson Boulevard to
<br />the South line of Washington Street by constructing a Class "C " pavement, Types 1 to 4 be and the same are
<br />hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the Department of Public Worksand Safety.
<br />October 15, 1956, at the hour of 9:00 A.M. (CST) is hereby fixed as the time and the office of the Board
<br />Pf Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this City, as the Place, when and where the Board of Public
<br />Norks and Safety will open and consider bids for the above named improvements, provided all bids for the
<br />construction of said work shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of this Board before 9:00 A.M. (CST) of
<br />paid day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certified check, cashier's check in the
<br />.5um of five (5%) per cent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution of this contract, if said work
<br />Ls awarded to him.
<br />The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two (2) weekly publications of the time
<br />and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and considered for the construction of said work.

<br />;heck or bid bond for above named amount, to insure the execution of this contract.

<br />ENGINEERS REPORT
<br />In the matter of the Bids for the Improvement of Meade Street from Elwood Avenue to Bulla Street by
<br />onstructing a local combined sewer in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2834, 1956 and confirmed
<br />y this Board on September 41 19569 we hereby report that we have examined the several Bids submitted to the
<br />oard on September 17, 1956, and find that the Reed Construction Company, Inc. 2022 North Main Street, Misha-
<br />aka, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for the construction of the improvement and therefore, we recommenc
<br />hat the contract be awarded to the Reed Construction Company, 2022 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana.

<br />After due investigation of all bids and being dully advised on the premises, the Board of PublicWorks
<br />nd Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, decides that the bid of the Reed Construction Company, Inc.
<br />ishawaka, Indiana for the construction of the improvement known as the Meade Street Local Sewer Improvement
<br />ccording to Improvement Resolution No. 2834, 1956, is the lowest and best bid, and that the contract to do
<br />aid work be awarded to the Reed Construction Company, Inc., 2022 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana.
