(DST) <br />All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Walker <br />5.00 <br />Plans were approved by the Board this 1st day of October, 1956 for a Storm Relief Sewer in Kenmore <br />Street and Prast Boulevard of the Brentwood Estates. <br />The Sewer Improvement Contracts in Oakcrest Drive and Sylvan Glen for the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />under Improvement Resolution No. 28432 1956 were approved by the Board this 1st day of October, 1956. <br />Comes now Irving Hurwich, Attorney of the Armour and Company, and requests permission that the hear- <br />ing on Vacation Resolution No. 2845 be continued for one week until October 81 1956. Permission granted. <br />Excavation bonds were approved for John B. Hendricks. <br />Contractor's bonds were approved for Harold E. Anson, L. Wells & Company, and Forest Guise. <br />In reference to Council meeting, several requests of Councilmen were submitted to the Board. Said re <br />quests are hereby referred to Traffic Engineer, Ernest H. Miller, for investigation and a report will be <br />made back to the Board on Monday, October 8, 1956. <br />A letter was received from the South Bend Parking Company of the following change in their price scheo- <br />ule on Lot number 21, 121 East Washington Street: 35� one hour or less, 10� each additional hour, 50Q all <br />day, 50� flat rate after 5:30 P.M., and Sundays and Holidays. Accepted and placed on file. <br />Referring to the bids of the Indiana Avenue Street improvement, Contracts No. 1. and 2, all bids re- <br />ceived were rejected. The bid of the Mcintyre & Jones Company was rejected because no completion date was <br />designated on the bid, and the bids of Rieth-Riley Construction Company and Reed Construction Company were <br />.;extremely over the Engineer's estimate. <br />The time now being 10:00 A.M. (DST) the bids for the Sewer Improvement in <br />were opened. Proof of publication in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood <br />.and in the Record with an affidavit signed by W.,DeCanio were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. <br />;;The single bid received reads as follows: <br />REED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY A non -collusion affidavit, Form 96-a, and <br />2022 North Main Street a certified check in the amount of $415.00 <br />Mishawaka% Indiana accompanied the bid. <br />Total bid price - Extension of Items No. 1 to 12, inclusive <br />......... $8,286.62 <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2844 <br />The bids for the improvement of Donald Street from Kemble Avenue to Douglas Street and Douglas Street <br />;from Donald Street to Ewing Avenue by constructing a local combined sewer received on October 11 1956, in <br />(.accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 28447 1956, passed by this Board on August 137 1956, and confirm <br />led by this Board on September 177 1956, are hereby referred to you,for examination and tabulation and to re <br />;port to this Board with recommendations. <br />R.
