529 <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 28439 1956 <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />In the matter of the Bids for the Improvemebt of Oakcrest Drive -Sylvan Glen by,.?constructing a local <br />I. combined a local combined sewer in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2843, 1956) and confirmed <br />I by this Board on September 109 1956, we hereby report that we have examined the several Bids submitted to <br />the Board on September 24, 1956, and find that the Reed Construction Company, Inc, Mishawaka, Indiana has <br />the lowest and best bid for construction of the improvement and that we recommend that the contract be a- <br />warded to the Reed Construction Company, Inc. Cole & Son <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2843, 1956 <br />Improvement Resolution Awarding Contract <br />After due investigation of all bids and being dully advised on the premises, the Board of Public Work <br />and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, decides that the bid of the Reed Construction Company, Inc. is <br />'Mishawaka, Indiana for the construction of the improvement known as the Oakcrest Drive - Sylvan Glen Local <br />�jCombined Sewer Improvement according to Improvement Resolution No. 2843, 1956, is the lowest and best bid,'; <br />land that the contract to do said work be awarded to the Reed Construction Company, Inc. 2022 North Main <br />it <br />Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2839 <br />i <br />i <br />I This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of/damages and the; <br />assessment of benefits •in• the matter of vacation of 1. THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN FALCON STREET AND <br />�jKENMORE STREET RUNNING FROM JEFFERSON STREET NORTH TO WASHINGTON: 2. THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN <br />I KENMORE STREET AND WELLINGTON STREET RUNNING FROM JEFFERSON STREET NORTH TO WASHINGTON: and 3. THE EAST <br />j .AND WEST ALLEY BETWEEN JEFFERSON STREET AND WASHINGTON STREET RUNNING FROM WELLINGTON STREET TO FALCON ST., <br />;under Resolution no. 2839. <br />f, <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were filed;! <br />:The Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same were found sufficient, and the <br />;Board therefore finds that the alley has been benefited and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The l <br />;Board, therefore decides to take final action on said adsessment roll and declares same in all things rati <br />Ified, confirmed, and approved without modification and the proceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon <br />!receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefited `and all pyoceed <br />dings had with reference to said vacation are hereby sustained. <br />i, <br />There being no further business to come;before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 1o:30 A.M.
