<br />The Ladies Auxiliary of the Maurince D. Roses Post 318 of Jewish War Veterans requests permission
<br />to conduct their annual flower tag day on September 17, 1956. Permission granted.
<br />Joseph Dunnigan requests permission for Bryan Street between Sherman Avenue and Inglewood Place to
<br />be closed for a street dance on Friday evening, June 22, 1956. Permission granted.
<br />Contractor's bonds were approved for William R. Neiden, Hugh Wright, Gervase S. Thompson, W. E. N

<br />Contract Supplement No. 2 of Contract No. 7-A dated June 139 1956 was approved and placed on file .
<br />A bond of insurance from the Hartman Builders, Inc. in the amount of Twenty-seven thousand dollars
<br />($27,000.00) was accepted and approved by the Board.
<br />The request of the E. U. B. Church at the corner of Broadway and Carroll Street to close the adja-
<br />cent alley while erecting an addition to the church during the working hours was granted by the Board.
<br />A petition was received for the improvement of William Street from Calvert Street to Ewing Street
<br />the construction of black topping according to Barrett Law Plan. Referred to the Engineering Department.
<br />A petition was received asking for the vacation of an alley extending from North Chicago Street E
<br />to North Illinois Street. Referred to the City Plan Commission for further investigation and report.
<br />A petition was received for the paving of an alley between the 1800 block of North O'Brien Street
<br />and the 1800 block of Johnson Street. Petition referred to the Engineering Department.
<br />Yield R/W Signs were installed on the northeast corner of Lakewood Street at Norton Drive.
<br />No Parking This Side Signs were installed on north side of 1100 East Broadway; west side of Walnut
<br />Street from the railraod tracks to the second driveway of the Oliver Plant south of tracts; and on north
<br />St. Joseph Street between the back of the Welfare Building and Center Street.
<br />Stop Signs were installed on Olive Street, both sides, at Bertrand Street making this a 4-Way Stop;
<br />and on Olive Street, both sides, at Huron Street making this a 4-Way Stop.

<br />Notice is hereby given that the following Sewer Improvement has been completed and the general char
<br />acter of the improvement, the street, alley or public place on which it has been made, and the..terminal
<br />points thereof, are as follows:
<br />A local combined sewer in Bercliff Estates Addition, as follows: From 35th & Oakcrest East to Tim-
<br />berlane, then North to Bercliff Drive, then West on Bercliff Drive to McKinley. Also East from Timberlane
<br />& Bercliff Drive to Logan, then North to McKinley. Also from 35th and Oakcrest on 35th North to Chevy
<br />Chase, then East to Devonshire then North to Windingwood. Also from 35th & Chevy Chase West to Wildemere,
<br />then North to Windingwood then West to Sylvan Glen. Also from Wildemere & Windingwood East to Devonshire.
<br />There is on file in the Office of the City Controller of the City of South Bend, Indiana an assess-
<br />ment roll with the manes of the owners and description of property subject to be assessed with the amount
<br />of the prima facia assessment, and can be seen in the Office of said City Controller.
<br />The Board of Public Works and Safety of said City, at the Office of the Board in said City, will on
<br />the 2nd day of July, 1956, at 10:00 A.M. (DST) receive and hear remonstrances against the amounts assessed
<br />against their property respectively, on said roll and will determine the question as to whether such lots
<br />or tracts of land have been or will be benefited by said improvement to the amounts named on said roll, or
<br />is greater or less than that names on said roll or in any sum. St which place and time all owners of such
<br />real estate may attend in person or by representative and be heard.
