429 <br />C7 <br />r-I <br />L_J <br />The Board ratified the action taken by the Board on December 19, 1955 pertaining <br />to the followings A <br />Whereas at the meeting of the Board of Public Works on December 19, 1955 the firm,': <br />Consoer, Townsend & Associates was directed to prepare plans for the paving of <br />Riverside Drive in the City of South Bend, Indiana and, whereas said Consoer, <br />Townsend & Associates have prepared plans for the extending and paving of River- <br />side Drive through the Sewage Treatment Plant, from the Colfax Road north to the <br />south right of way line of Cleveland Road, and whereas the basis for such plans <br />and specifications shall be 2% for preparation of plans and specifications and <br />3% for supervision; the net total fee not to exceed 5% of the total cost of con- <br />struction and, whereas the work is to be performed by the Sollitt Construction <br />Company on a forthcoming contract supplement, and therefore the Board of Public <br />, o and <br />Works hereby ratify said action of the Board meetingof December 19 1�55 «� said <br />Consoer, Townsend & Associates is directed to prepare plans as approved. <br />A letter was received from Office Engineers, Inc., requesting additional <br />:complete remodeling of their building. The request of Office Engineers, Inc., <br />;completion of their building to be extended to March 4, 1956 was granted. <br />The Board approved the installation of the following STOP signs: <br />Donald Street at Walnut Street, both sides. <br />time to <br />for final <br />The following bond for the South Bend Exterminating Company, Inc. in the sum of <br />(5000) for Fumigator and Pest Control Contractor was examined and approved by the Board.' <br />An excavation bond in the sum of ($1000) was read and approved by the Board for the. <br />Strohm Construction Company. <br />A petition was received from Harold C. Freeland and others with reference to the <br />;improvement of Southridge Drive from Hilltop Street to Ridgedale Street by the construe <br />- <br />tion of at least 2 street lights. Matter referred to the Electrical Department. <br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission recommending the vacation of <br />!an alley in the southeast 4 Section 33 of Portage Township. Referred to the Engineering .'Department for further investigation and report. (Chicago Plaza Addition) <br />A letter was received from the City Plan Commission with reference to a request to <br />vacate an alley at rear of Lots numbered 1 2 q <br />The vacation was unfavorable recommended. ' '3 and 4 in Guildfoile and Curtis Addition. <br />The time now being 11:00, it was so announced and the Board proceeded to open the. <br />bids received for the cars for the Police and Building Departments. Proof of publication, <br />in the South Bend Tribune of the 16th and 23rd of January, 1956 was submitted to the <br />,,Board with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood of the South Bend Tribune as to notice <br />of bid. Proof of publication of the Record on the 16th and 23rd of January, 1956, ac- <br />companied by an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio showing notice of bids submitted to the <br />Board. <br />Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Co. A non -collusion affidavit and <br />520 S.
