Bickel BMM.or Public Works & a e y 1 The Board next examined a petition, dated September 19, 1955. for the prevention of ,the burning of rubber tires and other refuse on the premises at 1420 South Walnut Street,i� :which is said to create an intolerable condition in the immediate neighborhood. The 1 ;Board referred the matter to Assistant City Attorn11 ey, A�'thur w. Frisk, for investigation ;and advice. { The Board then examined and signed contract with the Rieth-Riley Construction Inc., for the jCompany, resurfacing of Ewing Avenue, from Michigan Street to Franklin I I Street . The Board next examined and signed contract with McIntyre & Jones, for the con- struetion of new concrete curb and the widening of the base four feet with Portland 1eement concrete six inches in depth, on Olive Street, from Western Avenue to Washington d� !Avenue. i . Recommendation for the vacation of the first alley west of Klley Street, from Colfax Avenue to the first alley south of Colfax Avenue, was received from the City Planning Commission with the stipulation that all easements be retained. The Board referred this to the City Engineer for further investigation. Recommendation for the vacation of the 14 foot wide and 126.6 feet deep alley � located between Lots Nos. 207 and 208 of the Third Plat of Northwest Addition to the City of South Bend, was received from the City Planning Commission with the stipulation that all easements be retained.
