311 <br />11 <br />• <br />For the preparation of complete designs, plans, construction, drawings, <br />specifications, estimates of cost and contract documents for all work to be done under <br />,the improving of Miami Street from Ridgedale Road to Ireland Road, as prepared under <br />Division A, the fee will be a sum equal to Three Per Cent (3%) of the estimated con- <br />struction cost of the work. <br />Services to be rendered under Division A are as follows: <br />i <br />(1) The Engineers shall make all necessary field surveys, and <br />11prepare complete designs, plans, profiles and specifications for all improvements <br />to be constructed under this program. <br />(2) The Engineers shall prepare detailed estimates, showingithe estimated <br />quantities and estimated construction costs of the various pavements to be constructed, <br />including other necessary work and appurtenances essential to same. <br />(3) The Engineers shall prepare complete specifications for the various <br />phases of the work, including proposal forms, contract forms, bond forms, and all other <br />features essential to complete contract documents. <br />(4) The Engineers shall supply a reasonable number of copies of the plans <br />and specifications to the City. <br />(5) The Engineers shall supervise the making of any test borings or test pits <br />if needed for the purpose of determining sub -grade conditions on the various streets to <br />be improved. All costs in the making of such test borings or test pits are to be forne <br />directly by the City, and are not included in the Engineer's Fees as herein set forth. <br />(6) The Engineers shall assist the City in interesting experienced and quali- <br />"fied contractors in bidding on the work, and assist the City in receiving construction <br />;:bids and in the awarding of construction contracts. <br />(7) The Three Per Cent (3%1 fee designated for work under Division A will be <br />due and payable upon completion and delivery of detailed plans, estimates of cost and <br />specifications, to the City. The amount of the fee so paid at that time shall be based <br />upon the Engineer's estimated construction cost of the work, and shall be subject to <br />the approval of the Board of Public Works & Safety. <br />':DIVISION B - Consulting Services and General Supervision during Construction. <br />The Engineers will furnish all necessary field engineering to lay out, <br />:supervise, and inspect the work and also will furnish consulting services during con- <br />+'!struction. <br />i <br />• The fee for the service is to he an additional Two Per Cent (2%) of the <br />'construction cost of the work; provided, however, that as hereinafter agreed, the total <br />:fee shall not in any event exceed Five Per Cent (5%) of the actual construction cost <br />of the over-all project. <br />Engineering services to be rendered under Division B shall include: <br />t!) To furnish the constructing contractor the necessary bench marks, lines <br />.and grades required for constructing the improvements. <br />(2) To furnish the necessary inspection to insure the installation of the <br />:complete work in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents. <br />• (3) To prepare partial and final estimates of cost for approval by the <br />'Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />(4) To furnish such consulting services as may be required during the <br />''period of construction. <br />(5) To furnish the City with final construction "as built" drawings of <br />each project. <br />The Two Per Cent (2%) fee for services rendered under Division B will be <br />due and payable in monthly increments based upon monthly estimates of construction work <br />,:performed. The total amount of the fees for which provision is made in this contract <br />,shall be computed on the basis of total actual construction cost of each contract and <br />":the Engineer's shall not be entitled to receive as fullpayment from the City more than <br />!!a total of five per cent (5%) of such total actual construction cost. <br />Both parties agree to lend their best efforts at all times to the full <br />;;and faithfull performance of the covenants herein contained to the end that the improve- <br />'ments may be completed in an efficient and businesslike manner, and as inexpensively as <br />possible,.consistent with safety, and with the minimum of delay, so that the same, when <br />;;completed, will be a credit to the citizens of the City and will fulfill the require- <br />'-ments for which they were designed. <br />� IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have hereunto set their hands and seals <br />:,this 21st day of March' 1955• <br />
