<br />Next appeared Councilman Walter Glass, relative to the failure of Ham The Wrecker to
<br />comply with the City Ordinance and direct orders from the Board of Public Works to
<br />construct the fencing required for the maintaining of a junk yard or scrap pile, within
<br />the City limits. The Board directed the Clerk to notify Mr. Eugene A. Ham to appear
<br />before the Board at 9:00 A. M. C.S.T., Monday, March 28, 1955, at which time a final
<br />idecision is to be made in the matter.
<br />The Board next considered the request of the South Bend Shrine Club, this date, for
<br />permission to hold a street parade Monday, April 4, 1955, at 8:00 P.M., in connection
<br />with the Clubts annual Charity Show on behalf of the Crippled Childrens.t Hospitals. The
<br />Board granted -approval with the stipulation the Club will provide public liability
<br />insurance for the parade of $50,0001100,000, and $10,000 property damage insurance, or
<br />equivalent.
<br />The Board next examined and approved Contract Supplement No. 6, Contract No. 6,
<br />Santucci Construction Company, contractors, supplement having been recommended for
<br />acceptance by the consulting engineers, Consoer, Townsend & Associates.
<br />The Board further examined and approved the color schedule prepared by Consoer,
<br />Townsend & Associates, for the Sewage Treatment Plant.

<br />The.Board next examined and entered into the following contract for the improvement
<br />of Miami Street, from Ridgedale Rodd to Ireland Road with Clyde E. Williams and Associate:
<br />THIS AGREEMENT, mq.de and entered into this 21st day of March, 1955, by and
<br />between the CITY OF SOUTH BEND:, INDIANA, A Municipal Corporation, acting by and through
<br />its Board of Public Works and Safety, hereinafter designated as the "City", and CLYDE E.
<br />WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, of South Bend and Indianapolis, Indiana, hereinafter designated
<br />as the "Engineer".
<br />WITNESSETH, That,
<br />WHEREAS, the City is contemplating improving Miami Street from Rid edale
<br />Road to Ireland Road, which includes but is not limited to the -re -surfacing and�or the
<br />replacement of the paved roadway, and
<br />WHEREAS, the Engineers are qualified and experienced in the design and
<br />construction of pavements and,the necessary appurtenances therewith and are capable of
<br />serving the City in such matters,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of certain amounts hereinafter specified j
<br />to be paid to the Engineers by the City, the Engineers agree to do, at their own cost
<br />and expense, all of the engineering work hereinafter specified, to the full satisfaction
<br />of the Mayor of the City, its Board of Public Works and Safety and in complete fulfillment
<br />of legal requirements of the Ordinances and Regulations of the City and the Statutes of
<br />the State of Indiana applicable to the foregoing described work.
