261 <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />VACATION RESOLUTION N0. 2803 <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by <br />the Board of Public Works and Safety for the vacation of GARLAND ROAD FROM THE WEST <br />LINE OF CAROLINE STREET TO THE WEST LINE OF THE RECORDED PLAT OF TWYCKENHAM HILLS <br />ADDITION, SECTION "G" TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, under Vacation Resolution <br />No:, 2803. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and <br />no remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been filed with the <br />Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the said resolution be <br />finally adopted and the said street be vacated. <br />The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the <br />assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. <br />The time now being 11:00 otclock, it was so announced and the Board opened bids <br />as follows: <br />BURROUGHS CORPORATION <br />1335 Mishawaka Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />A non -collusion affidavit <br />and certified check for <br />382.40 accompanied the bid. <br />Item 1 - 1 Bell & Howell Micro-TImin, <br />Style 205A, 37 to 1 ratio, <br />including stand, work organizer <br />and extra work shelf.................$l687.00 <br />Item 2 -- 1 Bell & Howell Micro -Twin, Style 205B <br />24 to 1 ratio, including stand, work <br />organizer and extra work shelf ....... $1687.00 <br />Item 4 - 2 Automatic Document Feeder..........$225.00 <br />RECORDAK CORPORATION <br />847 W. Capacity 900 Film Boxes.............$317.00 <br />The bids of Burroughs Corporation and Remington Rand, Inc., were taken under <br />advisement for further study. <br />Robert L. Huff, Director of City Planning, being present, recommended to the <br />Board, the appointment of Lieutenant Thomas McNaughton, as a technical expert to review <br />the bids concerned with micro -filming, and provide the Board with a report of his finding.,. <br />• ;The Board complied with Mr. Huff's advice and recommendations, and Lieutenant McNaughton <br />.was designated to make the required study of these bids. <br />i <br />Bids to supply the Engineering Department with a Station Wagon were as follows: <br />SCHERMAN-SCHAUS-FREEMAN CO. <br />LAFAYETTE AT SOUTH ST. <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />A non -collusion affidavit <br />and Certified Check for <br />$162.00 accompanied the bid. <br />! 1 - 1955 Studebaker Champion DX Station Wagon <br />Less Discount and Federal Tax............ 01675#00 <br />Less allowance on 1946 Chevrolet Pickup 175.00 <br />• i. <br />00.00 <br />Underseat Heater and Defroster and <br />Spare Wheel and Tire add ................ 112.00 <br />
