<br />plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of

<br />A letter from the Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., dated October 27, 1954,
<br />over the signature of H. S. Driggs, was next examined, the proposal contained therein
<br />approved by the Board, and the matter then referred to the City Engineerts office.

<br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANAI:
<br />That it is desirable to vacate the following:

<br />GARLAND ROAD FROM THE WEST LINE OF CAROLINE STREET
<br />TO THE WEST LINE OF THE RECORDED PLAT OF TWYCKENHAM
<br />HILLS ADDITION, SECTION 't G" , TO THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA it
<br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
<br />vacation:
<br />Lots Numbered 296 and 297 Twyckenham Hills
<br />Addition, Section "C-".
<br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 5th day of November and on
<br />12th day of November, 1954, in the South Bend Tribune and Tri-County News. ! •

<br />11:00 A. M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or
<br />affected by these proceedings. j

<br />Next appeared before the Board, applicant for taxicab driver's license, Ted
<br />marciniak. Based upon the record supplied by therb-lice Department, and confirmed,
<br />rather than disproved, by this hearing, it was the consensus of opinion of the Board
<br />that license should be denied, and it was so ordered.
<br />The Board next examined, and ordered filed, copy of a letter written by Ralph
<br />Moorhouse of Consoer, Townsend & Associates, under date of October 28, 1954,notifying
<br />Paschen Contractors, Inc., of the approaching completion date of Contracts Nos. 5A and
<br />5;B, and excess cost contractor must meetin the event completion is not effected in
<br />accord with contracts. !i •
<br />The Board next ordered a correction of the minutes pertaining to Vacation
<br />Resolution No. 2800, under date of August 30th which should read
<br />"The Board then examined drawing submitted by Edison Park, Inc.,
<br />showing the 10 foot public walkway between lots 314 and 315, and
<br />walkway between lots 333 and 334, and also 14 foot public alley
<br />between lots 328, 329, 330 and 311, which they are petitioning
<br />to have vacated, and this was referred to the City Planning
<br />Commission for their recommendation."
