Next appeared before the Board Mr. Jules Kimmett, democratic candidate, subject
to the primary election, for representative from the Third Congressional District,
presenting a further petition for the Board's consideration to permit him the use of
his mobile public address system, at specified locations within the City, and atspecifiec
times. The Board maintained that the City Ordinance governing the use of this type of
equipment, precludes its use on the streets. It was: pointed out to Mr. Kimmett, how-
ever, that its use on the Court House premises would be within the jurisdiction of the
County Commissioners, inasmuch, as the Court House was one of the locations designated
I! in Mr. Kimmettfs petition. Petition was denied.
A letter from Colip Bros., Inc., bringing to the attention of the Board, the
' completion of their contract, as covered by the City's formal Purchase Order BW3780,
and the urgency for additional work, totaling approximately $900.00, which is required
to avoid the tripping of some of the new branch circuit breakers. In view of the
hazard still existing and the fact that Colip Brothers are ?ion the job" and fully
cognizant of the immediate requirements at this time, the Board authorized that the
work proceed to the addition cost not exceeding $900.00, and directed the Clerk to
I inform Colip Bros., Inc., accordingly.
A letter in appreciation of co-operation extended by the Board to the U. S. Marine
Corps and Marine Corps Reserve in their recent public relations campaign, bearing date
Of April 12th, over the signature of Capt. Donald W. Tardif, was read and ordered filed.
