<br />The plat contains Eighty -Five (85) lots numbered from Two-Hlindred Thirty
<br />'I (230) to Three Hundred Fourteen (314), both inclusive and lot lettered "Alf.
<br />The dimensions of the lots and widths of streets are marked on the plat
<br />in feet and decimals thereof.
<br />All streets shown on the plat not heretofore dedicated to the public are
<br />s hereby dedicated to the public for use as public thoroughfares. Easements shown
<br />on the plat are for utility construction and maintenance. Minimum set back lines
<br />are as shown on the plat.
<br />The Board next read a letter received from Wilmer H. Tolle, Director of the
<br />St. Joseph County Department of Public Welfare, under date of April 14th, and finding
<br />j the subject matter to be wholly under the jurisdiction of State Highway Department,
<br />the Board directed the Clerk to forward this letter to Lloyd Poindexter, District
<br />Engineer, Indiana State Highway Department, LaPorte, Indiana.
<br />A letter from the Secretary of the City Plan Commission, quoting resolution
<br />adopted by the Commission, under date of April 15, 1954, was read and referred to
<br />the City Engineer for investigation and report upon the Commission's recommendation
<br />• contained therein.
<br />TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT:
<br />The Board approved the installation of a S-T-O-P signs on Bulla Street at the
<br />intersection of Wilbur and Bulla.
<br />Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, being present, requested permission for the
<br />attendance of himself and his assistant Frank Vukovitz, at the Purdue University
<br />"Road School", being held April 19th to 22nd inclusive. Permission was so granted
<br />by the Board.
<br />A petition for the establishing of a taxistand on the north side of Western
<br />Avenue, west of Michigan Street at the specific location of Parking Meter No. 192 was
<br />examined and referred to Traffic Engineer, E. H. Miller, for investigation and report.
<br />Petition purports to recommend assignment of such location to taxicab operator Ernest
<br />T. Zick.
<br />A petition, dated April 15, 1954, to improve Iowa Street from Locke Street
<br />to Ardmore Trail, by the construction of a sanitary sewer, under the Barrett Law plan,
<br />was examined and referred to the City Engineer for investigation and report.
<br />A petition, dated April 7, 1954, bearing twenty-two signatures of Prairie
<br />Avenue residents, calling attention to the need for improved handling of traffic in
<br />• the vicinity of the Oliver School, was examined and referred to Traffic Engineer,
<br />E. H. Miller for investigation and report.
<br />Excavation Bond in the sum of $5,000.00, binding Edward Sidorowicz, d/b/a
<br />Sid's Plumbing and Heating, was examined and approved by the Board.
<br />Contractor's Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00, were examined and approved
<br />for the following:
